Mrs. Margaret Blue

There passed peacefully away at her home in Little Sands on April 15, 1947. an old and respected resident in the person of Mrs. Margaret Blue in her 88th year.

Mrs. Blue was formerly Margaret MacNeill, daughter of the late Archibald MacNeill and Dolly Munn, Little Sands and was the widow of the late Angus Blue, who predeceased her 34 years ago.

Mrs. Blue had been up and around every day until on Feb 4, when she became seriously ill an bedfast and was tenderly and lovingly cared for by her loved ones who did all in their power during her ten weeks illness to make her comfortable. But in spite of all that medical skill and loving care could do, God called her home and she passed gently away at 7 a.m. on the above mentioned date.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter Mary, Mrs. Malcolm MacPherson, Wood Islands East and two sons, Alexander and George H., both of Little Sands, also seven grandchildren. One daughter Dolly predeceased her.

Her funeral was from her home in Little Sands on Thursday at 2 p.m. to Little Sands Cemetery. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Vessey, who spoke very comfortingly on "Love Never Faileth". The hymns sung were THe Lord's My Shepherd, What a Friend We Have in Jesus, and Higher Ground, favourites of the deceased, and while the remains were being viewed, Shall We Gather at the River.

The pallbearers were ( four of whom were her nephews) were Archibald Munn, Hughie MacNeill, Sibold MacNeill and Neill MacNeill, William MacDonald and Neill MacDonald. The remains were driven by Mr. James Dixon. Her body was laid in Little Sands Cemetery but her spirit went to God who gave it."
