Veteran Dies at Montague


Montague- The death occurred at the King County Memorial Hospital, Montague, on Thursady, September 1st, 1960 of William John MacKay of Murray River, formerly of High Bank, in his 65th year, after a lengthy illness.

He was a veteran of the First World War and went overseas with the 105th Battalion; he was twice wounded. He is survived by his widow, the former Christine MacDonald and seven children: Sterling, Murray River; Leona, Mrs. Oliver Giddings, Murray River; Jessie, Mrs. Robert Dennison, Hull, Quebec; Catherine, Mrs. Basil Irving, Charlottetown; Angus, Murray River; Donalda, Mrs. Evan Courtney, St. John's Newfoundland; and Wayne at home.

He is also survived by a sister, Sarah, Mrs. Norman Stewart, High Bank and one brother, John Alex, Florida, USA, also thirteen grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 2pm. on Sunday from Little Sands United Church. Interment will take place in Little Sands Cemetery.
