Thomas G. Meney and John Meney

bituary

Thomas G. Meney

"The funeral of Mr. Thomas G. Meney, of Little Sands, who passed suddenly away in the Veteran's wing of the P.E. Island Hospital on Saturday, April 14, was held from the Little Sands United Church on Tuesday, April 17, at 2 pm.

Rev. L.S. Woolfrey conducted the service and spoke words of comfort from "If a man die, Shall he live again."

The hymns sung were favourites and were namely "Shall We Gather at The River", "I Come to The Garden Alone" and "In The Sweet Bye and Bye". Although the roads were bad a good crowd gathered to pay tribute to one who had gone from their midst so early in life. Mr. Meney was a great lover of music and could play several musical instruments and liked fun. He was considered the life of the party at any gathering where he would be present.

He was born in Killwinning, Scotland, and came to Canada with his mother and a large family, coming to P.E. Island several years ago and to Little Sands nearly nine years ago.

Mr. Meney will be sorely missed in the community but it is in the home where the loss of a loving husband andfather, will be most keenly felt. Interment was in Little Sands Cemetery.
