Mr. Malcolm Smith


The death took place at Little Sands on October 11th, 1952, of Malcolm Smith at the age of 73 years. He was born at Little Sands the eldest son of the late Angus Smith and his wife Effie MacNeill.

His entire life was spent in Little Sands, with the exception of brief periods when employed in Pictou County, N.S.

The late Mr. Smith was a quiet unassuming man, a good neighbour and one ready to assist in all community work.

He is survived by two brothers, Ewen Smith, Kelowna, B.C., and Daniel M. Smith, Wood Islands; and one sister, Miss Mary G. Smith who resided with her brother and nursed him during his illness.

The funeral was held on October 13th from his late residence. The service was conducted by Rev. T.R. Goudge of Pownal who spoke words of comfort from the twenty-third Psalm.

The following were pallbearers: N.C. Stewart. Malcolm Livingstone, Neil D. MacNeill, Harold A. MacLean, William D. MacDonald and Hugh MacNeill. He was laid to rest in the Little Sands Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Goudge conducted the service at the grave"
