bituary

Finley MacLean

"There passed peacefully away at his home in Hopefield, PEI on Saturday, September 14th, 1935, Mr. Finley McLean at the advanced age of 86 years. Mr. McLean was the son of the late Angus and Mary McLean , Little Sands, PEI, the last survivor of a family of eleven. Throughout his long illness he was tenderly nursed by his wife and family. He will be sadly missed in the home, where he was always very considerate of those among whom he lived, by his kindly and genial nature, while among his friends and neighbours he was ever ready to lend a helping hand in time of need.

The funeral services in the home and at the grave were conducted by his pastor, Rev. Mr. Britten, of the Murray River Baptist Church, of which he was a faithful member.

He leaves to mourn besides his sorrowing widow, four sons, Angus, Alexander, Peter and Lester, all of Hopefield and one daughter, Florence (Mrs. W.W. MacKay) of Wood Islands. Besides his family he leaves four grandchildren.

The pallbearers were Roderick MacKay, John A. MacDonald, Norman MacPherson, W.S. Buell, D.D. Livingstone and Alex Blue.

A large concourse of friends and neighbours followed his remains to its last resting place in the Little Sands Cemetery."
