2. On Nov 16, 1808, Jemima and Sylvanus Dyer welcomed another baby girl which they named Lucinda Dyer. Lucinda was such a quiet baby Jemima was sure that their must be something wrong with Lucinda's lungs. The doctor assured Jemima that Lucinda's lungs were just fine.

We do not know just what occurred or was said at headquarters after Capt. 13. 1867; In the 30th annual report of the Boston Fire Department in 1867, George H. Golliff was admitted to the Hook and Ladder no. 1 company (who was housed at Warren Sq. in Boston). He was 26 years old. He lived at 16 North Margin St. and he was a painter. He was admitted in place of a James Edwards who was honorably discharged.

16. 1868; In Brief "The funeral of Mr. George H. Golliff, the member of Hook and Ladder Company No. 1, who was killed while on his way to a fire on the 11th inst., will take place at the Methodist Episcopal Church on Hanover street, on Friday next, 2 P.M. Cheif Engineer Damrell has extended an invitation to the members of the several companies of the department to attend the services. Golliff, a member of Ladder No. 1, while going to a fire at the corner of Cork Place and Commercial Place, was run over by the truck and instantly killed.” (History of the Boston Fire Department”, Arthur Brayley, 1889, John P. 18. FUNERAL OF A BOSTON FIREMAN
Funeral services over the remains of George H. Goliff, late member of Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1, whose death was caused by being run over by the carriage while going to a fire on the 11th inst, took place yesterday at the Methodist Episcopal Church on Hanover street. A large audience was in attendance. In the absence of the pastor, who is at the West Key, Mr. McDonald of Grace church on Temple street officiated. At the close of the services a procession was formed in the following order Members of the Fire Department by companies, left in front, ranging from No 14 to No 1, each wearing some suitable emblem of mourning, the Hose Companies, ranging from No 10 to 1, Hook and Ladder Companies, Nos 4, 3 and 2, the Board of Engineers and Cheif of the Department. The foregoing constituted the escort. Following the hearse came the relatives and friends of the deceased. His Honor the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen and the members of Hook and Ladder Co No 1. The pall bearers were two each from Hook and Ladder Cos Nos 2, 3 and 4, and one each from Steamer No 1 and Hose No 1.
The procession was under the direction of Mr. John C. Hubbard, assisted by Henry W. Longler, Secretary of the Board of Engineers, and George H. Allen, Superintendent of Lamps. After passing up Hanover and Tremont streets as far as Northampton street the escort retired and the carriages passed on to Forest Hill, where the body was deposited in the Fireman's Lot.
