Several of the people in my ancestry files have participated in military service. I try to collect their military files as time permits, and I am including some of the data I have collected. I have been concentrating mostly in the area of Civil War service. William Pettit, James Dean, and Cornelius Culp, served together in the Civil War in the 119th Illinois Infantry. Allen Pettit, brother of William (brother-in-law of James Dean and Cornelius Culp) served in the 6th Kansas Cavalry. Jabez Tuey served in the 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery.
