Services for Peggy Page Pevey, 82, of Hobbs will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Christopher's Episcopal Church with burial in Prairie Haven Cemetery under direction of Chapel of Hope. She died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1998, in Columbia Lea Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 8, 1915, in Wheeler County. She married William Lawrence Pevey Sr. on April 25, 1935, in Wheeler County. He died Aug. 9, 1976. She attended Amarillo Junior College and West Texas State University. She moved to Lea County in November 1957. She served two separate terms as probate judge. She was a dual lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Texas and the Bethany Chapter 56 Order of the Eastern Star of Hobbs. She was a member of the Lea County Democratic Woman and a past member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Altrusa Club of Lovington. She was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. Her family owned and managed Elliott and Waldron in Lovington. Survivors include a son, W.L.
