PEAVEY, JAMES H.

BRADFORD, VT


Peavey, James H., 72 of Bradford VT died Sept 8, 2004 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, in Lebnon NH .

He was born September 19, 1931 in Woodsville, N.H., son of James and Pearl (Green) Peavey. He attended schools in Newbury.

Mr. Peavey owned and operated Corner Country Store and Jim's Country Store in Hanover, N.H., and Sharon Beef in Sharon.

Jim enjoyed raising beef cattle and horses, attending auctions and buying and selling beef cattle and horses. He also enjoyed attending fairs, especially horse pulls, and visiting with people. Family was very important to Jim and he will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include sons James E. Peavey of Sharon VT, John P. Peavey of Orford, N.H., and Jeffery G. Peavey of Lebanon, N.H.; his companion of thirty-four years, Jean T. Henderson of Bradford; sisters, Jean Shepard of Lyme, N.H., Joanne Wheeler of West Newbury and June Beliveau of Windsor Locks, Conn.; a brother, Delbert Peavey of Enfield, N.H.; 7 grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.,

A celebration of his life will be held on saturday sep 11, 2004, at 1 pm in the west newbury town Hall in West Newbury VT. burial is private at a later date.

PEAVEY, MARY C.

LUNENBURG VT

Mary C. Peavey, 80, of Guildhall Hill Road, Lunenburg, Vt., died Saturday morning April 5, 2014, at Weeks Medical Center, Lancaster.

Mrs. Peavey was born in Maidstone, Vt., on April 22, 1933, the daughter of Louis Phillip Lamotte Sr. and Mildred C. (McGoff) Lamotte. She was raised in Guildhall and was a graduate of Lancaster Academy.

On June 20, 1958, she married Quentin Peavey of Lunenburg. For a time she worked for Bell Telephone Company in the Gilman, Vt., and Littleton offices. She served the town of Lunenburg for many years on the Lunenburg School Board. She also drove school bus and cooked at the Gilman Middle School. Mary also enjoyed cooking at home and loved her flower gardens.

Surviving family members include her two sons, Jeff Peavey and his wife Dana, Darren Peavey and his wife Debbie all of Lunenburg; three granddaughters: Heather (Peavey) Pinsonneault, Hannah D. Peavey and Gracie Lyn Peavey; a grandson, Quentin D. Peavey; two brothers, Rod Lamotte of East St. Johnsbury, Vt., Louis Lamotte of Lunenburg; three sisters, Rachel Nason of Tampa, Fla., and Hannibal, Mo., Anna Fain of Tuttle, Okla., and Ruby Lauber of Summerfield, Fla. Her husband Quentin predeceased her on March 8, 2012. She was also predeceased by two infant children, Gary and Tina; and a brother, Philip Lamotte.

Memorial visiting hours will be held Friday evening April 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church in Lancaster. Rev. Matthew Mason, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery, Lunenburg.

PEAVEY, QUENTIN

LUNENBURG, VT

On March 8, 2012, Quentin Peavey, of Lunenburg, Vt., passed away at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.He was born on Feb. 1, 1933, a son to Ernest E. and Shirley (Colby) Peavey.

Quent was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a machinist at the Groveton Paper Mill for 27 years.He loved to hunt and fish and extended this love to each member of his family. He also enjoyed working in his machine and wood workshop.

Quent is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Lamotte) Peavey along with two sons, Jeff Peavey and his wife Dana, Darren Peavey and his wife Debbie; three granddaughters Heather (Peavey) Pinsonneault and her husband Mark, Hannah D. Peavey and Gracie Lyn Peavey and a grandson Quentin D. Peavey.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster, N.H. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Lancaster, N.H. Burial will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lunenburg Recreational Committee P.O. Box 73 Gilman, VT 05904.

PEAVEY, SHIRLEY C.

LUNENBURG, VT

PEAVEY, Shirley C., 89, formerly of Guildhall Hill Road, Lunenburg, died Monday evening, Dec. 23, 2002, at The Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndonville.

Mrs. Peavey was born in Lunenburg, Sept. 15, 1913, the daughter of Luke and Nellie (Smith) Colby.

She was a lifetime resident of Lunenburg and a graduate of Lancaster Academy. She enjoyed flower gardens and rug hooking. She was a member of the Lunenburg Methodist Church.

Her family members include a son, Quentin Peavey and wife Mary of Lunenburg; two brothers, Howard Colby and Ellis Colby, both of Lunenburg; three sisters, Rheba Hartshorn of St. Johnsbury, Rachael Gould of Kingston, Mass., and Ruby Beecher of Dover, N.H.; two grandsons, Jeffrey Peavey and wife Dana of Lunenburg, and Darren Peavey and wife Debbie of Lunenburg; three great-grandchildren, Heather, Hannah, and Quentin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest E. Peavey; and a grandson, Gary Peavey.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster.
