 PattenMarch 26, 1863I this day recd of Paul Peavey one Red Cow nine years old this spring and I agreed to keap this cow in good order and return the same cow to sed Peavey on his order and I agree to return the same cow the tenth day of May in sixty four and with calf or calf by her side and seven dollars with her for the youse of the sed cow if not returned a new milk cow to pay a nuft to make her a new milk cow and if don�t return the same cow I agreed to pay the said Peavey on his order Twenty Five Dollars on Demand this cow is the same cow I let Susanah Peavey have Jeremiah(?) Know all men by these presence that I Andrew Getchell of Mount Chase in the County of Penobscot and State of Maine have constituted and appointed and by these presence do constitute and appoint Paul Peavey of Patten in the County of Penobscot and State of Maine, to be my true and lawful attorney in my name and stead to ask demand and receive from the Post Office Department all the mail pay due or to become due me as Contractor on route No 96 from Patten to Smyma Mills in sais State of Maine , being $45 per year fron July 1st 1869 to June 30th 1873.
