WILLIAM DAVID PEAVEY Biography
William David Peavey was the son of David Peavey and Lucinda Soule. He was born at Oakland, Maine, about 1838 and died 7 July 1874. Oakland once was West Waterville. He was the first child in the family. He was often called Dave Will Peavey. His first wife was Frances E. who died 7 April 1871, aged 26 years, 6 mos. and 7 days. He married Mrs. Abbie Frances Carruth on 3 Aug. 1873 at Sidney, Maine. She passed away October 18, 1874. William David Peavey was a Civil War soldier in Company E. 3rd Maine Infantry. He was about 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was wounded while serving and was later discharged because of illness. His only child, Emma by his first wife, received his military pension. William David is buried at Lewis Yard Cemetery, Oakland, Maine. Emma Peavey married Mr. Barker and moved to Florida. They had no children. Emma is now deceased.
