NOTES by William Forrest Peavey, his son

John Forrest Peavey was a registered professional engineer, having graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He was a brilliant cabinet maker and hybridizer of camellias, rhododendrons and azaleas.

He served as a captain in the US Army and was an infantry instructor during WW2. He stayed in the Army Reserve and retired as a Lt Colonel.

His ashes are interred at the 1st Congregational Church of Hendersonville, NC Memorial Garden, which was his personal project. We recently placed a memorial marker at Lakeside Cemetery,
