From "Newington Families", In the will of John Hudson of Newington dated July 5, 1717, and proved March 1734, names his wife Mary (Beard) and grandchildren Hudson, Thomas and Abel Peavey. Mary (Beard) also had these grandsons baptized in his name in the Newington church September 3, 1727. Both of these facts indicate that John Hudson and his wife Mary had taken in their grandsons prior to his will in 1717 most likely because of the death of their daughter Mary. Abel was not able to care for them, most likely because of his job. There is no indication that they lived with their father Abel after his marriage to Mary Cluff in 1720.

Information for the marriage of Hudson Peavey and Madlen Brown was recorded in the notes of Rev. Joseph Adams of the Newington Church.
