PEAVEY - ELLIS WEDDING

Quiet Home Event

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Peavey, six miles south of Clay City, was the scene of a quiet wedding Sunday afternoon, when the eldest daughter, Rachel, was married to Howard W. Ellis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilkie Ellis of the same neighborhood. Rev. Ira L. Myers pastor of the Clay City and Howerville Presbyterian churches read the service at 2:00 o'clock in the presence of members of the two families and the bride's grandmother, Mrs. F. M. Peavey. The bride carried a bouquet of gardenias and wore a becoming coat suit of pinscrepe, which was also her traveling suit.

Following the ceremony summer refreshments were served and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis left soon after on their honeymoon trip, which will take them through the mountains of Virginia and to Washington DC. They are expected home Saturday.

Mr. Ellis graduated from the Clay City high school and at present has employment with the Maumee Collieries Company at Riley. His bride also graduated from the Clay City high school and from the Indiana state Teachers College. She taught school at Hobart, Ind., the past two years. They will go to housekeeping north of Coalmont, not far distance from the coal works.
