PEARSALL FAMILY REFERENCES

REFERENCES

The following are reference works concerning the Pearsall Family. I do hope that these references encourage those who are interested in furthering their research with an open mind. We at Pearsall-L are trying to establish the line of ancestry of one Thomas Pursell and of Henry Pearsall origins in England. We are trying to find out 1-Were Thomas and Henry from the same family, cousins perhaps, or not related at all? 2-How were either of them related to Edmond Pearsall of Staffordshire?

THE HISTORY AND GENEALOGY OF THE PEARSALL FAMILY by Clarence Pearsall (1928) In this 3 volume set Clarence traces the PEARSALL family from England to America, Australia and Canada.
Copies of these volumes can be viewed at a Family History Center and also inter-library loan.

n 1942 there was an article in THE AMERICAN GENEALOGIST Vol. 18; 78-90; 153-171 by Herbert Seversmith and Arthur Wardwell titled "THE FABULOUS PEARSALLS". In the Article Seversmith and Wardwell point out the lack of documentation for Thomas Pearsall: his existence on Long Island, and of being the father of Henry Pearsall of Hempstead, also of Henry having any brothers.

In 1988 there is an article by Matthew Wood "THE FAMILY OF MOYLES WILLIAMS, ONE OF THE ORIGINAL PROPERIETORS OF HEMPSTEAD, LONG ISLAND.
In this article it is stated:
"Moyles and Ann Williams of Hempstead are clearly identical to Michael and Ann (Pankhurst) Williamson of Ipswich, Massachusetts and Newport, Rhode Island. This fact has not been brought out in previous work on the subject."

Another article of great interest is in NYG&B Record April 1990 'THOMAS IRELAND AND HENRY PEARSALL; AND ENGLISH CLUE FROM AMSTERDAM" by Harry Macy, Jr. In this work Macy writes that Henry Pearsall and Thomas Ireland came on the ship "ROYAL".
This is a great article to request.
