A Gunnery Lieutenant, not specially appointed for Gunnery duties to the ship in which he is serving, will, on attaining the position of Senior Lieutenant of the same ship, provided, 1st, that he performs Gunnery duties in addition to his other duties ; 2ndly, that the ship is allowed a Gunnery Lieutenant; and 3rdly, that no other Lieutenant is borne for Gunnery duties, be entitled to the Gunnery Allowance according to his Class in Gunnery, in addition to his Allowance as Senior Lieutenant

� Staff Commanders and Navigating Lieutenants in command of Rated Ships, fitted or employed as Store Ships, are to be granted the same Store Allowance as Staff Commanders or Navigating Lieutenants of First Rates; and those in command of Sloops or other vessels employed as Store Ships, or on other such special service, are to be allowed the Store Allowance of Fourth Rates for the charge of Stores put on board for conveyance            
A Chaplain and Naval Instructor, while acting in the double capacity, is to receive half of his pay as Naval Instructor, in addition to his pay as Chaplain            
Tuition Allowance for each young gentleman instructed to Naval Instructor, or to Navigating Officer when no Naval Instructor is borne, also to Navigating Officers when Instructing Officers selected for qualifying in Navigating and Pilotage duties 5 0 0 0 0 3

Note:-Time served as Secretary to a Flag Officer or Commodore of the 1st Class, after passing for the rank of Paymaster, is to reckon as Senior Service for full and half pay.

NOTE-In consideration of the increased responsibilities attaching to Engineer Officers in charge of engines in the larger ships of modern construction, rates of Charge Pay from 3e a day to 7s a day will be granted to the Engineer Officers in charge of engines of 8,0110 indicated horse-power and upwards according to the special circumstances of each case, which circumstances will in each case be decided by their Lordships

* Engineers and Assistant Engineers at the Home Ports are not entitled to charge Pay when appointed by other than Admiralty authority.
