The Secretary of State for India having established the under-mentioned rates of allowances to Officers of Her Majesty's Ships on the East India Station, who may qualify themselves to act as Interpreters in Oriental Languages, my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty are pleased to make the same known, for the information of the Officers of the Fleet:

Officers qualified to act as Interpreters who may be serving on board Ships ordered home from the East India Station will, if they desire it, be removed into another Ship on the station should the Service admit of such removal.
