Showing the net Sea Pay of the Flag Officers of HM Fleet, with Net Sea Pay and Number of the Retinue ; also the Net Sea Pay of Commission, Warrant, Petty and Non-Commissioned Officers ; and the Ratings of every Description both of Seamen and Marines allowed to each Class of Her Majesty's Ships ; and distinguishing the several Classes for sharing the produce of Seizures.

Seamen Gunners
Admiralty June 1st, 1842
With the view of affording further encouragement to the Seamen Gunners at present in the Service, and also to such men as may hereafter, on receiving their Gunnery Certificates, be discharged from the Excellent to Seagoing Ships, their Lordshihps are pleased to direct, that all Seamen Gunners shall receive 2s. a month additional pay for the first period of five years, from the date of their passing Certificates of Gunnery ; 5s. a month after the expiration of that period, for the next five years; and 7s. a month for all subsequent Service, provided they re-enter forthwith on the completion of each period of Service.

When there are four Engineers' Boys the senior 2nd Class Engineer is to inistruct the third boy. The Junior 2nd Class Engineer the fourth boy, and each is respectively to receive the allowance of 6d. Per day for the instruction of the boy placed under him. Further rules apply regarding certificates etc.
