IGI, Ba:F896651 8, So:1553339, "Ann Casebolt, wife of James K. Ellison, b. 1816 in … Indiana. All other sources I have seen name her as Anie, Anna or Ana e.g. Linda Mardell McFall Nixon, "The Ellison Family," p.8, "Anna Casebolt, a native of Indiana, who was born there about 1816."

I have found no official birth , family bible or probate record which "proves" Anna was daughter to Thomas and Martha. Indeed, I have seen no other source which suggests she was their daughter. However, their 1820 census record clearly shows a daughter of her age range, in addition to Rachel, in their household; and she and her husband settled among the other offspring of Thomas and Martha in southwestern Missouri – she fits here, whereas there seem no other available parents for her. Her own reports of age and birth in the various U.S. Censuses for Missouri were: 1850, Ozark County, p.17 age 31, b.IN; 1860 Webster County, household #886, age 44 b. IN; 1880 Douglas County, p.481D, age 62, born IN.

.She was alive among relatives and descendants in Douglas Co, MO for the 1880 census. It is highly likely that she died there.

I have found no record of Anna’s first marriage. My guess is that she was with her parents in Missouri at the time of that first marriage to the unknown Mr. Lebo, and that they then moved to Indiana.

Anna’s Indiana marriage record calls her Anna Leabo, which must have been her name as a widow. I have seen no record of her first husband’s name or of a marriage record for them.

Marriage Index: Selected States, 1720-1926, Sec.III, Ch.22, "James Ellison m. Anna Leabo, 31 Dec 1835, Hendricks Co, IN."

Leslie Ballou, Lineages, Inc. Internet Query, 11/4/98 … "… Anna … was married to James K. Ellison II 21 Dec 1835." Linda Mardell McFall Nixon, "The Ellison Family," p.8, "I have never seen written James’ middle name but it would seem that it was kel or Kelly since that name was handed down through the Ellisons." Idem. p. 2, "Anna and James accompanied his father James in the move from Indiana to Missouri."
