1 Price, p.184 said he, Alexander [sic] Barlow, was an emigrant from France; but Barlow, Crystal book order, 28 May 1998, said the IGI gives his birth as 01-29-1765 in Manchester, Eng. [If this date is at all correct, the year must be 1755; it is much more likely that he married at 23 than at 13 -- rak].

Marriage Records says 10 Mar 1779 [the ceremony date? --rak].  CD229 on Southern Marriages gives the date as 4 May 1779 [an error? -- rak].

4 She needed permission to marry, so must have been less than 21 in early 1779.  Crozier, VA Co. Records, 4:86: Daniel Harvey married in Augusta Co, 17 Nov 1761.

5 She is no longer listed in the census as of 1840; Henry₄ and Barbara_4.1 evidently always lived in or near the Little Levels.

6 Bruns, Nancy Barlow e-mail to rak, 3 July 2001: I found the marriage bond of Richard Barlow and Barbara Harvey (bride under 21) at the State Library: her father is listed as Daniel Harvey who made his mark to give his permission for her to marry; Richard may have signed his name; the Bond is #27.  WFT Vol.18, Tree #716 gives her name as "Maria" but gives no source; see also Vol.3 #1924 and Vol.15 #1031.
