KRAUS

16.  Johann Peter (9 Jan.1808-aft.1858)

8.  David (12 May 1843-19 Feb.1922)

The Kraus Family Chart (hereafter KFC), done by Prof. Pleve, says that Johann Peter, his wife and his children, along with a brother, his wife and children, moved from Schilling to Alexandertal in 1854.  Click on it to go back to Schilling.

Household #10 in the 1858 Alexandertal census, dated 17.02.1858, is: KRAUS, Johann Peter 49, wife Dorothea 49, and children: Johann Peter 28 (his wife Maria Barbara 25 and children: Johann Martin 4 and Benjamin 2), Martin 25 (his wife Elisabeth 24 and son Georg Conrad 4), Johann Jakob 21, Conrad 19, Johann Georg 17, David 14, Catharina Elisabeth 12, Samuel 10, and Anna Maria 4.  Household #9 was Johann Peter's brother, Heinrich Conrad 32, wife Catharina Margaretha 23, and children: Heinrich Conrad 7, Jakob 5, and Johann Jakob 2.

The David KRAUS family left Alexandertal for the US in 1876.  I have had hints that Johann Peter may later have come to this country but no real evidence as to date or place.

DAHLINGER

9.  Maria Katarina (1850-1944) m. David KRAUS.

Maria and David probably were married in Rosenberg where she lived with her parents and where the parish church for Alexandertal was.  Following their marriage in 1869 until they left for the US in 1876, they lived in Alexandertal -- so I was told by all of my older relatives in the 1960's.

NAGEL

17.  Maria Dorothea (1808-aft.1858) m. Johann Peter KRAUS.

Came to Alexandertal from Schilling in 1854, long after their marriage in 1828.  Maria, most probably, was born and married in Norka.
