McGovern Cemetery

McGovern Cemetery
Overton, PA

July 09, 2001 Contributed by Elaine Frey
Note: Located just outside Overton, Bradford County, PA. This cemetery is another sad story in the way stones have disappeared and been let go to the point that they are almost unreadable. There were four tall monuments (I think) and just a few stones. I tried to get everything that was readable and had to work hard for a couple of them. Here is my best effort.

In the Cemetery plot where the Chapel stood on the McGovern farm, is a granite block monument. On this block is the following inscription: Edward McGovern born in County Cavan, Ireland, 1799.
