Mary A. Ritchey, 56, of 2605 Robert Fulton Hwy., Peach Bot-tom, died Thursday, July 27 at Lancaster General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
- Born in Roaring Springs, she
was the daughter of the late John J. and Frances Weiser Strait.
She and her husband, John W. Ritchey, were married for 37 years.
- Mrs. Ritchey was a home visitor for the child development
program for Lancaster County Community Action Program, retiring in 1991 after 21 years.
She was a member of Stateline Baptist Church, near Rising
Sun, Md.
- Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Joseph L. of QuarryvilIe; a daughter, Heather L., at home; and four grandchil-dren.

Walter Cleveland Ritchie
Walter Cleveland Ritchie, 83, of Bell Manor Road, Conowingo,
Md., died of natural causes Sunday at Calvert Manor Healthcare
Center, Rising Sun, Md. -
He was the husband of Virginia
A. Ritchie, who died in 1991.

A carpenter, he worked for the
Jackson family for 50 years.

Born in Pilottown, Cecil County,
Md., he was a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Lillie Mae McCullough Ritchie.
A U.S. Army veteran of World
War II, he served with the 788th
Combat Engineers.

He was a life member of Pleasant Grove United lMIethodlst Church, Peach Bottom.
A lifelong resident of Cecil
County, he graduated in 1934 from Rising Sun High School.

Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Ann Kennedy of Elkton, Md.; two
sons, John C. of Pleasant Valley,
N.Y., and Robert F. of Conowingo;
11 grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; two brothers,
Charles and Frank, both ot Rising
Sun; and Beulah Long of Oxford
