FAIRVIEW

Now and Then in Providence Township, 1976 , Paul Hollinger

In 1858 there was a school house where the Archery Club is now. In 1864 that school is listed as the number two Fairview School. The 1875 map shows Fairview at its present location, but this is a frame building of a different design than the other schools. It has three windows on the side, three in front, one in the peak. The Morri-sons now live in this two-story structure which one former board member thought was built in 1908. Note the brick outhouse on the left. It also has no date stone outside, but I didn't check in-side. Bill and Annie Graybill have the old school bell in their hackyard.
