This information is from a handwritten document from "G. W. Killough, 486 Shawmut Ave., Boston, MA. " In was written in his hand on June 8, 1855 and a copy is in the Lancaster Co. Historical Society files, viz:
.
"A copy of the Record of My Mother's ancestors; and her Father, and Mother's; particularly, giving the names and date of the births, of their children...My Mother's Father's name was William CARTER who emigrated from Ireland, leaving his Parents in Ireland; and whose names were respectively, William CARTER and Jane GREY. My Mother's Mother's name was Mary HENRY, the daughter of John HENRY and Jennet KINGEN, who emigrated to America from Scotland leaving their Parents in Scotland. And hence the children of Wm. and Mary Carter are as follows with their names and the dates of their births: viz.
1st Jennet CARTER, born September 7th 1770
2. Mary CARTER, born November 22, 1771
3. Jane CARTER, born November 1, 1773
4. Elizabeth CARTER (deceased) born April 20, 1776
5. Catharine CARTER, born February 28, 1778
6. Eleanor Carter (deceased) born January 28, 1780
7. Elizabeth CARTER, born March 27, 1782
8. William CARTER, born March 18, 1786
9. John CARTER, born February 7, 1790
And, now at the date of this copy (June 8, 1855) it may be remarked that respecting the above nine children of Wm. & Mary CARTER,
that Jennet intermarried with Robert PATTON, a farmer, and is dead.
Mary intermarried with Wm. ROBISON, a farmer, had 9 children & is alive.
Jane intermarried with Samuel JAMISON, a farmer, and had 3 children and is alive.
Elizabeth, the 4th in order, died while a child only 18 months of age.
Catharine intemarried with Francis SCOTT, a farmer, had 9 children & is alive.
Eleanor, the 6th in order, died while a child only 11months of age.
Elizabeth the 7th, my Mother, intermarried with my father, Samuel KILLOUGH, a farmer, and had 8 children.
William intermarried with Dorcas BAKER who had 5 children & is alive.
John intermarried with Sarah BRABSTON who had 2 children & is dead."
