William Woods

William Woods was born in York county, on 27 Mar  1776, son of Samuel and Isabella Sankey Woods.

 

Rev. Woods was a member of the Erie, Hartford and Beaver Presbyterys and pastored at Plaingrove, Centre, Hopewell, Neshannock and others.

 

He married Margaret Donaldson of Washington County, on 17 May 1798.  She was born 17 Feb 1781.  They became the parents of twelve children.  Margaret Donaldson Woods died 20 Apr 1842 at Utica, OH.

 

Rev. William Woods died 31 Jul 1839.

Rev. William Wood, born in York county, March 27, 1776; brought in early life to Western Pennsylvania, he studied at the Cannonsburg Academy and Dr. McMillan's log seminary. He was licensed on the 29th of October, 1801. He was ordained and installed over the congregations of Plain Grove and Center, November 3, 1802. He labored there with diligence and success until 1816, when he assumed charge of Neshannock and Hopewell, where he labored eleven years. He died at Utica, Ohio, July 31, 1839.

He was afterwards—from 1816—pastor of Neshannock and Hopewell, where he labored eleven years. He died at Utica, Ohio, in July, 1839.
