Jan 15th, 2:00 pm Sunday Movie Day, New Centerville Fire Hall (weather permitting) Bring snacks and drinks.


No monthly meeting in Feb.


Feb. 18th, Saturday. Lincoln Luncheon will be hosted by Brindle Camp # 50 and Auxiliary at Carlisle, PA, at the historic US Army Heritage Education Center at Carisle Barricks, 950 Soldier Drive, Carisle, PA 17013. Lunch is at 1 pm. Cost is $29.00. The museum will be open at 10 am � 5 pm. http://www.paasuvcw.org/2017PALincolnLunch.pdf for registration, which must be mailed by Feb 1st.


March 19th, 2 pm. Sunday meeting, Mt Union Church, Civil War Flea Market and Auction. Please bring items, new or used, for sale. A donation or a portion of the proceeds toward the SUV would be most appreciated.


March 25th Volunteer at Maple Mountain Manor during the Maple Festival 9 am � 5 pm. Two shifts: 9-1 & 1-5.


April 1st 1:00 on Maple Festival Parade. Martin and Jennifer Hurl are hosts from this event. Be at their house at 223 6th Ave. Meyersdale by 12:30 pm. Phone 634-9506. You may use their house to dress, if needed. Allied Orders are invited to march together as one group.


April 8th, Saturday.  Appomattox Luncheon at Oakhurst Grill, Rt 31, West of Somerset. Lunch is at 1 pm. Hosted by My Union Church Camp # 502, and
Auxiliary, and DUVCW Susanna Cook Tent 61.      Registration


April 27, ROTC Awards at Ligonier Valley High School
April 29, Sat ROTC Awards at Albert Gallatin High School
May 10, ROTC Awards at Laurel Highlands High School

April 9th, 2 pm, Camp meets at Mt Union Church. Program is Glass Plate Photography. We must have 10 photo orders before
they come.
Photos will commence at 12:00 noon.

April 15th at 7 pm, Great Vigil of Easter at Mt Union Church


May 21st, Sunday at  2 pm. Memorial service with wreath laying at Jersey Baptist Cemetery near Ursina.  We will be honoring members of the Ross Rush GAR.


May 25th, Thursday, 7:00 PM. Ascension of Our Lord Service at Mt Union Church. A special evening. Please attend.


May 29th Monday, Memorial Day, Union Cemetery, New Centerville. We will provide a Color Guard for the Ceremony. See Dean or Dan Brant if you can help with the Color Guard.


June 18th, 2 pm Sunday meeting, and field trip to reenactment at Old Bedford Village. More info later.


June 22-24th PA Department Encampment of the Allied Orders. Pittsburgh Marriott North

July 9th, 7 pm Sunday. Allegiance Sunday held at Grace United Church of Christ, Garrett, PA (across the tracks) This is a joint service between the Auxiliary, Sons and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, Somerset County Pomona Grange, and Odd Fellows Lodges Of Somerset County. Please attend this wonderful service.


July 16th, 3 pm (note time change) Annual Picnic & Meeting. All Allied Orders are invited including DUVCW. Auxiliary will provide meat and drinks. The descendants of the founders of Mt Union Church (Lepharts & the Mt Union Church Association) will also be our invited guests. Program on WWII by Dr. Eric Greisinger


July 22nd Saturday at 5:00 pm. Service in conjunction with the Junghen Family Reunion. Everyone is welcome. Light supper to follow. Many Younkin descendants were in the Civil war.

August 20th, Sunday 2:00 pm. Stone dedication/memorial service for James Carter, USCT, at Meyersdale Union Cemetery. We hope to have special speakers for the program.


Sept. 5th, Tuesday 3-6 pm. Enter your Scarecrow and Pumpkin decorations in the contests at the Farmer and Threshermens Jubilee. The Sons & Auxiliary sponsor these events. See Clark Brocht for application.


Sept 17th 2:00 pm meeting. No bus trip is scheduled this year.

Oct. 15th, Sunday, Meeting at Mt Union Church.  Election of Officers.


Oct 21st, Saturday. Joint meeting with Tyrone, Johnstown, and Mt Union Church camps at Hoss’s in Ebensburg. Johnstown Camp will host.


Nov. 4th, Saturday 7:30 pm. Civil War Gala. Social hall at Somerset Church of the Brethren. Please bring a period correct finger food for the buffet table. Auxiliary is in charge of drinks. Tickets are $10.00 each. For tickets call Becky Andrews 724-478-3599, Chris Sechler 814-395-3200, Betsy Nightingale 814-445-6205, or Clark Brocht 814-926-3142. Clark will provide paper supplies and coffee. Note date change.


Nov. 12th, Sunday 2:00 pm Meeting at Mt Union Church. General Robert E Lee and General Nathan Bedford Forrest will be visiting, with friends from

Thomas W. Patton Camp No. 2021 in Boardman,Ohio, Sons of the Confederate Veterans.
Installation of new Officers, and planning for Remembrance Day activities in Gettysburg for those attending.

Nov. 17th Friday. Lunch at Dunlaps Restaurant in Gettysburg, 12:00-1:00. We will travel to various monuments for wreath laying and stories. Everyone is invited to attend and visit the monuments of our Camp Members. If you are staying at the  Eisenhower Complex, please book as a member of the Allied Orders of the Grand Army of the Republic.

Nov. 18th Saturday – Remembrance Day

                11:00 am Wreath Laying by the Allied Orders at the Albert Woolson Monument, Zieglers Grove on North Hancock Ave.

                1:00 pm Remembrance Day Parade. We need members to march.

                4:00 pm Mass at Father Corby’s Monument

                5:30-9:30 pm Luminaries in the National Cemetery

                8:00 pm The Original Civil War Ball sponsored by the SVR/SUVCW will be held at the Eisenhower Complex. Tickets are available from Brigadier General Henry E. Shaw, Jr., Deputy Commander of the SVR. Music will be by the Philadelphia Brigade Band and dance instruction by the Victorian Dance Ensemble Performing Troup of the Civil War Dance Foundation. The net proceeds fromt his ball are donated to the Gettysburg National Military Park for monument preservation.


December 17th Sunday, 2:00 pm. Christmas Party and Meeting at Hoss’s in Somerset. All dues must be paid and Battle Cry newsletter article ready.
