The Pocono Record began publication in April 1894, but the newspaper's library contains microfilm of Monroe County newspapers from 1893. There are gaps (isolated missing newpapers and the year 1912). From 1920 on the records are pretty complete. One can request copies of obituaries online from the archive. The deaths before 1986 are not indexed and researcher must know the date of death. |
