46th PA Volunteer Infantry

Company F

Commander: Capt. J.B. Dysart

Company Roster

In the summer of 1863, to face the invasion of the rebel army into Pennsylvania, the state raised about twenty regiments of militia for ninety days of service. This group of volunteers from Mifflin County did respond to the emergency call to arms, however, the battle of Gettysburg was fought before this regiment was fully formed, the rebels left the state, and the regiment was discharged after serving about six weeks. They served most of its term guarding the mountain passes in that part of the state.

*Also note - The photocopy of this list was sent to me but I don't know if it is the entire Company F. or partial. I also don't know if any received pensions for this service. - Cynthia Rosenberry
