PEARSON
LYTLE, farmer,
post-office Jackson Centre, was born January 22, 1840, on the farm where
he now resides. His father, John, was a
native of Ireland, and came to America when a boy, and to Mercer County in
1824, settling where our subject lives. He married Sarah
Kane, of Fayette County, Penn., and had the following children by
her: David, Mary, married William Reese; James,
Joseph, George, Pearson and William, who was killed at the battle
of the Wilderness. The father died in 1852, and the mother July 3, 1867.
They were members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Pearson
Lytle was educated in the country schools, and began life for
himself at the death of his mother. He was married October 24, 1871, to Melissa
Pearson, daughter of Samuel and Matilda
(McConnell) Pearson, and has had by her Edwin,
Bertha and DeWitt. He and wife are members of the Cumberland
Presbyterian Church. He is a Democrat.
