ALEXANDER family.  Looking for information on the George Alexander (b. abt. 1829 England) and Margaret Thomas Alexander (b. abt. 1831 Wales) family.  They came to America abt. 1852-1853 with children Mary (b. abt. 1850), William b. abt. 1852 both b. in South Wales.  Anna M. Alexander was b. abt. 1853 in Danville, PA.  Another child, George, Jr. also b. in PA abt. 1848.  In 1860 census, they are residing in Livingston Co., Illinois.  Vicky Johnson.

BEAVER family.   I am a descendant of Jesse Beaver, brother of Danville philanthropist Thomas Beaver, and superintendent of the Thomas Beaver Free Library.  Jesse and Thomas were among the children of Rev. BOWMAN, HUNT, FOLEY, DELONG & SHEPPERSON families.  William Joseph Bowman was born in Sunderland England in 1836 and came to Danville in 1855.  He was married to Mary Jane hunt who was born in Sunderland in 1838 and arrived in Danville in the 1850's.  Mary Jane's uncle was John Foley, who came to Danville from England in 1844 and was proprietor of the Rough and Ready Mill and the Montour Iron & Steel Co.  Mary Jane Hunt's sister was Sarah DeLong who came from Dudley Castle, Lancaster, England, and whose son Frank DeLong settled in Washingtonville and founded the DeLong Hook & Eye Company.  William and Mary Shepperson came from Leistershire, England in 1861 and 1860 respectively.   They lived at 715 Front St. in Danville, PA.  William had a contracting business in Danville of farms, horses etc.  Margaret Bowman.

COLEMAN family. I'm interested in sharing any family history with those of the Coleman family and their descendants. Patrick Coleman b. 1830, Ireland, married Mary Eagan b. c. 1832, Ireland. Their son James b. 1856, Wales, moved to Danville in the late 1870's & married Catherine McDonald.  They had ten children who were all born in Danville: Mary Jane, Patrick, Katie, Anne, Ellen, Michael, Alice, William, Thomas and Catherine.  Also interested in EAGAN, EGAN, BURKE, LEWIS families.    Trudy Simms.

DIETRICH/DIETTRICH family.  I am looking for info on Elias Dietrich, his ancestors and descendants.  Elias (1765-1831) moved to what is now Montour Co. around 1800, married Eva (or Catherine).  Elias d. in Derry Twp. 1831, Catherine d. 1835 in Mahoning Twp.  Had 10 children: Elias, Jr., 1786; Margareth 1786; Maria 1788, Elizabeth, 1790-1869 (m. Wm. Kline); Henry, 1793; Susanna, 1797-1858 (m. Joshua Baily Mendenhall); Magdalene, 1798; Anna, 1803; Fram?, 1806; & Friedrich, 1812.  Family were members of Evangelical Lutheran Congregation in Mahony Twp., and later St. Paul's German Lutheran & Reformed Church in Bloomsburg.  Lester Dietterick

EBNER & WELLIVER families, specifically Daniel EBNER d. 16 May 1878, Aledo, Mercer, IL, & his wife Elizabeth (WELLIVER?).  Daniel is possibly the son of Conrad Ebner d. 1838 Derry Twp.  This is one of several families who had members who went to Mercer Co. FICKS/FIX:  Michael FIX/VIX  was born in Reading, Berks Co., PA, on 8 Jan 1792, son of Lorentz Fix, Jr.  He moved to Columbia County, PA about 1840's, and died on 28 March 1874, Montour Co., PA.  Married Sophia SCHMIDT, on 28 Aug 1814.  Children were Maria; Sarah, Sophia, Susanna, Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Michael Jr., Wilhelmina, Rebecca and Mary Ann.   Lived in Mooresburg and later Liberty Twp., Montour Co., PA.  Would like to share information.  Contact Sunny Seidel at [email protected] .

FOLEY family.  Great great granddaughter of Rev. John B. Foley with lots of information to share about the Foleys and their extended families of Price, Reay and Hunt.  John B. FORNEY & GETZ families.  I am looking for information on the Forney & Getz Families of Montour County, especially  Dorothy Forney Becraft (1886-1992).  She had three brothers: Louis, William and Charles.  Her mother was a Getz.  The family owned Forney Ice and Coal for many years.   Kathi Vitale.

GARRETSON, GALBRAITH families.  Henrietta Garretson (b. 1830 PA, d. 1883 Danville, Montour Co., PA) married 1855 in Danville to Thomas Jefferson Galbraith (b. 1825 Northumberland Co., PA).  I have information on Henrietta Garretson's parents, Cornelius Garretson & Anna Catharine Doudel to share.  I am looking for information on the parents of Thomas Jefferson Galbraith.  Dorothy Gillette.
GEARHART family.  Jacob GEARHART I and his descendants.  Jacob had three sons: Jacob Gearhart II, George Jury Gearhart and William Gearhart.  I am a ninth generation descendant and I have a lot of information that I am willing to share in hopes of connecting with other Gearhart descendants.  Judy Churchill.  
GEARHART family:  Jacob Gearhart was born abt 1796 in Edensburg, Buhl, Alsace, FRANCE, emigrated to America in early 1830's and lived in  Danville, PA. Hancock wants to share information that has been mounting for 30 yrs.  William Hancock (1812-1872) was an ironmaster who came to Danville from England in 1844 and lived the American dream, building businesses, a home at 11 W. JACOBY.  Rebecca Laura Jacoby, born in Berwick area, daughter of James and Sarah (Kortz) Jacoby, married William B. Schuyler, whom she outlived.  Her second marriage was to George Washington Derr of Montour County in 1866.  After G. McKEE family.  The family of Robert McKee, who came to Exchange from Chester Co. in 1794, m. Agnes Craig, d. 1832, buried in Derry Presbyterian Cemetery.  Had son, James and three other children.  Eileen Wilson
McNINCH family.  James McNinch, born October 5, 1758 in Scotland, died March 7, 1855 in Cooper Twp., Montour County, buried in Old Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg, PA.  He and wife, Jane McHard had seven children:  Joseph, Samuel, Mary, William, Emily, Nancy & James.  Bob McNinch.
MEYERS family.   Louis Meyers married Anna Margaretha GROSCH in "Elkland" or Danville on 25 December, 1870.  He is said to have met his to-be wife in Danville where he came to find work in the lumber or iron mills in 1870.  Thom Meyers
MILLER family.  Looking for information on William & Sarah Elizabeth Hummer Miller.  He was b. February 14, 1855 and d. August 29, 1905.  She was b. September 29, 1857 and d. November 2, 1936.  Gary Steffen

MORRIS family.  Researching David A. Morris, Sr. in the Mooresburg area.  David was b. 07/25/1880 in Cambria Co. and d. 11/06/1957.  Married Clara Ellen Springer (b. 04/25/1897 Lycoming Co., d. 12/05/1945.  Buried Mooresburg Methodist Cemetery.  Children: Ralph Herman, Clara Morris Baylor, Benjamin Walter, David Augusta, Mary Elizabeth and one son and three daughters.  Click here for a photograph of David Morris, Sr. and his wife Clara.  Connie Williams.  (Note new e-mail address September, 2007).   
MOSER, Daniel b. 1853.  Wife Mary A. Smith.  Daniel was a coal miner.  After Mary's death he went to live in CA with son Henry Oliver Moser.  Oldest son, Thomas E. Moser (b. 1872), m. Mary Schwalm (b. 1874), apparently remained in Montour Co.  Looking to share information with descendants of Thomas E. Moser or his sons.  Would like to find parents of Daniel & Mary.  Kim Corlis.
MOSER, Daniel, b. November 14, 1854 in Washingtonville, Montour County, PA.  Married Hattie May Karschner(b. March 13, 1869 in Washingtonville), d/o John Karschner & Catherine Mochner.  They moved to Grand Decatur, IL?  Interested in any info on Daniel and/or Hattie.  Ruth (Moser) Cameron.

PATTERSON, Rev. John Boyd and family.  Rev. John Boyd Patterson, long-time pastor of Derry Presbyterian Church, lived on a farm near Washingtonville more than 50 years.  He died on 08 May 1843 and was buried in the Old Presbyterian cemetery along with his wife, Rebecca.  They had a son, Matthew, who was also a pastor.  When their last daughter (Jane) died in 1893 their heirs sold the farm and the family scattered.  My g-g-f Robert Patterson (b. 1819 in PA, d. 1898 in IL) m. Josepha McCay in 1845 in what is now in Montour County.  Jane Patterson's family Bible was listed in the remains of the estate.  Has a Patterson family Bible turned up in Montour County or elsewhere?  Jo Ann Patterson Baxley.
POWELL family.  George Lincoln Powell, b. Danville, PA 23 Sep 1862 to John and Mary Powell.  Moved to Chester, PA in 1888, and married Mary Alice Jones (b. OH 1867, daughter of Wm. & Ann W. Jones) in Houtzdale, PA.  George & Mary lived in Chester, PA, where they had 3 children:  Mary Alice, b. 1890; Annie Gertrude, b. 1893; and George Andrew, b. 24 July 1895.   I have many documents on George L.'s family but very little on his parents.  Although it appears that the John and Mary Powell found in 1860 census in Danville with several children are his parents and siblings, I cannot be certain without more information.  I hope my info helps someone with their research and look forward to info on John and Mary or the parents of George L. Also Annie Malick Groce, b. near Sunbury to Susanna Conrad Malick & Darius Malick, but when Susanna died of typhoid, Annie was adopted at age two by Sarah Katherine & Wm. ROBBINS family.  Searching for information about Charles P. Robbins and wife, Amanda, who lived in Liberty Twp. most of his life (1880 & 1900 census) and then moved to Milton per the 1930 census.  Charles was the son of Samuel Robbins who is buried at Old Center Lutheran Cemetery.  Would especially like to discover Amanda's maiden name.  Shaun Sholder.
ROZELL(E) family.  Charles Rozelle is listed in the 1860 census in Liberty Township with a number of his children.  Letters of Administration for his estate are dated February of 1863.  I am trying to find any information regarding this man or his family.  Richard Rozell.

SANDERS family.  I am researching the family of Michael Sanders and wife Martha.  He was a Danville carpenter and later tax collector who died in an 1872 fire.  We think he had a son Daniel and daughter Effie (married William Fetter).  Michael's parents may have been Henry and Anna Maria Sanders of Mahoning Twp.  Can anyone shed more light?  Gil Sanow
SAVERY & MAYAN families.  Carey Henry Savery came to Danville sometime between 1880 - 1900.  In 1900 he worked at the Bennett Mansion.  In 1902 he married Henrietta Stangier at St. Hubert's Church.  Son William E. SAWYER family.  Looking for family of Jackson Sawyer, b. in Montour County on Christmas Day of 1824, orphaned when 18 months old and adopted by the Joseph Kerr family, m. Hannah Carter, homesteaded in CA about 1852.  Interested in information about Jackson's parents.  Deborah Baskette
SHEPPERSON, HUNT, FOLEY, DELONG and BOWMAN families.  William Joseph Bowman was born in Sunderland England in 1836 and came to Danville in 1855.  He was married to Mary Jane Hunt who was born in Sunderland in 1838 and arrived in Danville in the 1850's.  Mary Jane's uncle was John Foley, who came to Danville from England in 1844 and was proprietor of the Rough and Ready Mill and the Montour Iron & Steel Co.  Mary Jane Hunt's sister was Sarah DeLong who came from Dudley Castle, Lancaster, England, and whose son Frank DeLong settled in Washingtonville and founded the DeLong Hook & Eye Company.  William and Mary Shepperson came from Leistershire, England in 1861 and 1860 respectively.   They lived at 715 Front St. in Danville, PA.  William had a contracting business in Danville of farms, horses etc.  Margaret Bowman.

SHOLES family:    Sholes, Yohe, Swarts Families   I am interested in sharing information about these families.   I am especially looking for the parents of Thomas Gaskins, Jr., b. 1749 Northumberland Co. but whose family lived in Danville and father may be Thomas Sr , Lt, who died in Washington Twp, Dauphin Co, PA  02 Jul 1790,  Charles Yohe b 1826, and Benjamin Yohe b 1788 of Schuylkill Co.. Also William  or  Samuel Swarts who lived in Mahoning Twp 1786-1795 but who moved to Jersey Shore to purchase land.   Other surnames of interest to me are Boyer, Roth, Plyler, Reitz, Hetrick, Price, Morrison, Quiggle, Willets, Shurr,  and Rosenkrans.  Connie Sholes Oberholser.  Check out her family page on ancestry.com.

WILDSMITH family.  I'm looking for information onJohn Wildsmith's father.  John, m great-grandfather, was born in PA about 1873 and married Maude Roat from Danville.  Both are buried in the Kase cemetery, Riverside.  His father was born in England and his mother in PA.  The only information I have is that John's father lived in the Danville area.  Any information would be appreciated.  Sandy Ryan Sheppard

ZEISLER family.  Joseph Zeisler arrived in the US in April, 1881.  He and wife, Irma, are known to be in Montour Co. in 1883.  The family were Jewish and had a son at that time who may have died in the county.  Apparently moved to Peoria, IL by 1884.  Would appreciate any information on this family.  Jerry Zeisler
