Second Lawrence County Boy Gives His Life For His Country

BRUNO CALABRETTA DEAD AT CAMP GREEN

ELLWOOD CITY, Pa., Jan. 11 - The first death among the ranks of this city' many volunteer soldier boys and the second reported death in Lawrence County occurred yesterday morning at Camp Green, North Carolina. Bruno L. Calabretta, a member of the 58th Infantry, Fourth Division, is Ellwood City's first contribution to the roll of honor of Lawrence county. He was about 24 years of age and his death is reported as being due to an attack of tonsilitis. He volunteered about four months ago and has been in the service since. He was a former well known employee of the Shelby ____ Tube company.

His nearest kin, Mrs. Elizabeth Salarino of Larence avenue, a cousin, received the message announcing his death. He has no other relatives in this country. Request has been made of the government that his body be sent here for burial and until further word is received, funeral arrangements cannot be announced.
