The Neff Cemetery is the oldest Mennonite burying ground in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. It was established by Jacob Kauffman Neff [d.1829] and his uncle Jacob Neff Sr. [d.1831] by a deed of release dated 17 July 1828 and recorded in Huntington County Deed Book, V-1-page 76. They owned the farms adjacent to the cemetery. The original area was .4 acres.
The earliest recorded burial was Christina Erb Neff from Lancaster who died 11 March 1806.Her husband was Daniel Neff who died in Lancaster in 1768. She was the mother of Jacob Neff Sr. and John Kauffman Neff. Her grave is toward the rear of the cemetery and marked by a barely legible stone. Around her are unidentified graves marked by field stones. All these Neffs descent from a Henry Neff who arrived at Philadelphia in September 1717, stayed 3 years northeast of Germantown, PA, then moved to Manor Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1723.
This family's history is detailed in a genealogy titled, NEFF-NF FAMILY HISTORY, by William A. Neff, Princeton Jct., NJ 1991.
The cemetery is owned by the Neff Family Historical Society, Inc. a non-profit Pennsylvania Corporation. It is managed and maintained by a Board of Trustees who are direct descendents of these Neffs. Support for the cemetery's maintenance come from descendants through North America.

There were several stones that
were unreadable and several fieldstones with no inscriptions. The cemetery is
very well maintained. (numbers in place of names are stones I need to retake.
Please disregard these)
