Mrs. Margaret Mock, probably the oldest resident of this place, died at her home on Water Street shortly before 10 o’clock Tuesday night after an illness of ten days from la grippe.  Had she lived until March she would have attained the ripe old age if 88 years, having been born March 15, 1815.

Her maiden name was Bell and she was twice married.  The first union was with David Skelly and three sons and a daughter were born to them.  These children are all dead.  Her second marriage was to Daniel Mock, and three children were born to them as follows:  George W., of Metal Franklin County, Daniel B., of Tod Township, and James E. of Morrison’s Cove.

She had been a member of the Methodist church for nearly three score years.  The funeral arrangements had not been made at the hour of going to press
