Will of Herman Blum

In the name of God, Amen.

I, Herman Blum of Tionesta Borough, County of Forest and State of Pennsylvania, Do then, being in poor health of body but of sound and disposing memory and mind and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength and capacity so to do, do make and publish this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me made at any time heretofore.  And first and principally, I commit my soul into the hands of my creator, who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in the Presbyterian Lutheran burying ground by the side of my beloved wife who has gone before me, at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named.  And as to my worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to intrust me I dispose of the same as followeth,  First I order that all my just debts and funeral expenses and charges of proving this my last will to be paid in full and Satisfied and after payment thereof I order that my executor shall retain and have a fair and reasonable compensation for his trouble and expenses.  Then I give and bequeath to my Nephew F. W. Blum, wife Mary M. Blum and their two children, Dorthy Blum and David Blum the one half of the real estate on which I now reside it being the half on which my buildings are on, situated in the Borough of Tionesta, Forest County, Pa said Real Estate to be divided by my executor immediately after my death.

Secondly, I give and bequeath the remaining half of my Real Estate to Elisabeth Glasner one third (1/3) Sebastian Blum one third (1/3) and Elisabeth Shellhouse, Dorcas Shellhouse and William Shellhouse the remaining one third (1/3) to be divided equal between them.  And I empower and request my executor of this my last will to divide the said Real Estate so as to give each their share according to my will if it can be so done satisfactorily to all of them.  If not then I authorize my executor to sell the property and divide the money raised from said sale between  them in proportion to the amount willed to them after deducting out all cost of selling the same.  I do also will and bequeath to Elisabeth Shellhouse, Dorcas Shellhouse and William Shellhouse Thirty three and one third dollars each to be paid to them by my executors out of money now in the Bank belonging to me as soon as convenient after my death.  And I further order that all my personal property remaining after my will being satisfied and setting at my grave suitable tombstones similar to those at my wife's grave shall be divided or the proceeds thereof if said shall be divided in the following manner  viz, One fourth to F. W. Blum, one fourth to Elisabeth Glasner and one fourth to Sebastian Blum and the remaining one fourth to be divided between Elisabeth Shellhouse, Dorcas Shellhouse and William Shellhouse, each share and share alike to be paid to them as soon as convenient after my death and I hereby order and request my executor hereinafter named shall take charge of all my property both real and personal and see that this my last will and request is carried out as herein directed.  And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint D. S. Knox of Tionesta Borough, Forest County, Pa executor of this my last will and I do hereby declare this will to be my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I the said Testator Herman Blum have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this seventh day of December A. L. S.      Personally came before me Justis Shawkey Register for the Probate of wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the county aforesaid L. Agnew and G. W. Robinson the Subscribing Witnesses to the above will who being duly sworn according to law do say that they were present and saw       and heard Herman Blum the Testator Sign Seal Publish and Pronounce the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last will and Testament and that at the time of so doing he was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief Sworn and Subscribed}
