Erie County government had done an excellent job in the past of putting together various web site pages about the operation of the courthouse. Unfortunately, the links have been changed around several times and navigation was sometimes difficult. The present Website is vastly improved, and it is once again fairly easy to navigate. Erie County Clerk of Records - The Clerk of Records Offices include the Recorder of Deeds, Register of Wills, Prothonotary, and Clerk of Courts. They are responsible for all civil, criminal, real estate, wills, adoptions, and marriage records.

Erie City Vital Records
The City of Erie has sent their birth and death records from 1875 to 1905 to the Erie County Historical Society & Museums. However, no public access is allowed. The Erie Society for Genealogical Research (ESGR) is authorized to search the Erie City vital records.
