WELCOME TO OUR THREE SPRINGFIELDs !

Welcome to Springfield Township - an area that I have called my home for the past 50 plus years. I am Evelyn Taylor Baker and I am now in my fifth year of providing genealogy and history articles in support of this township. Email inquiries have been received from several states, and from Germany, France and England. Because our three villages do not have a library or museum, I must get records from the attics, cellars and even barns of neighbors. We have over 50 articles online within several years.

Help is currently wanted for this township to take over as township coordinator.

I would like to give credit and thanks to the following "friends" for helping me to insure that Springfield Township is well represented in our endeavor to provide online genealogical research material for Erie County (PA).

  • WILBER PALMER, "Mr. Springfield", my respected mentor, for a 1864 History of Erie County book; access to his Springfield historic collection.
  • ERIC CHIARIZIO, KATHERINE GRAVES, BSA French Creek Council: Scouting
  • FLORENCE SORENSON, BERNIE CZARNECKI: Brindle Pioneer family history
  • BOB BLICKENSDERFER, MARTHA SHERMAN: Land records, photos
  • CHRIS SEDLER, BEN DAUB, CHRISTINA SNYDER: Schools
  • VELMA EAGLEY, JOAN MINK: directories and post office data
  • REV. BOB KLINGER, FLORENCE SORENSON: Churches
  • VALERIE MYERS, VICKEY BARKER: microfilm research
  • MATTHEW BOVEE, MARGE ENGLISH: photos
  • SAMUEL BAKER, Jr.: my son, research, keeping the computer updated
  • SAMUEL BAKER, Sr.: my husband, for oft times getting dinner, so I can research
  • BILL KLAUK: for his online guidance
  • If anyone else has material concerning Springfield Township, please provide it to me, or directly to Bill Klauk. Enjoy your visit to these pages, check back often for updates, and if I can help you in your Springfield Township research, let me know.
