Sherrod Hill Cemetery Correction
Contributed by Thelma Muffaletto
The following email message was received from Thelma Muffoletto (Great-granddaughter of Andrew and Abigail Bartlett Sherrod), which adds a valuable correction to the Sherrod Hill Cemetery listings:
"Today, I am writing about an incorrect listing in the Sherrod Hill Cemetery records that I would truly like to see listed properly after all of these years. This should be the listing for JAY SHERROD, son of Lewis S. and Nellie Sherrod 1889-1904. He is the grandson of Andrew and Abigail Bartlett Sherrod.
Instead, the record made by Margery Bacon in 1940 and by Mr. and Mrs. Wilson R. Durham in 1954 reads: JAY D.JAY/1889-1904.
The record made by Bonnie R. Guilford and Margaret Goodell completed in October 1985 lists under HOTCHKISS D. Jay 1889-1904? with the notation "this stone was among this family."
Jay Sherrod belongs under the SHERROD listings, with his grandparents, ANDREW SHERROD and ABIGAIL BARTLETT, and his aunt, VIOLA R. SHERROD."
