Amity Township Cemeteries
Drake Family Cemetery
Contributed by Bimmy Urso
Drake Family Cemetery is a very small inactive
cemetery (only 4 known burials). This family burial plot is located on the top
of a bank overlooking French Creek, 450 feet southwest of Haskell Hill Road,
near the intersection with Doolittle Road. It is about 600 feet just inside
Amity Township (see map below). Some older listings place it in Venango
Township. Bimmy Urso has provided the following:
"This is from an old transcription of the Drake Cemetery, Amity Township.
It is on private property. I made a trip out there this summer and the
owner was not home. A neighbor said he was at the cemetery about a year
ago and the stones were still there but the owner did not give
permission anymore for people to see it. I may try with the owner
again. This reading was done and documented May 10, 1981 by
Thomas H. Hutzelman. Map courtesy of Mr. Hutzelman."
Any
questions concerning this small cemetery should be sent directly to Bimmy Urso, who is
also the township coordinator for Amity Township.
