Erie County Almshouse circa 1876

This photo of the Erie County Almshouse was submitted by Gaylene Kerr Banister and is from the 1876 Historical Atlas of Erie County. According to the various Erie County histories of the time, the Almshouse was located in the vicinity of 23rd and Pittsburgh Avenue, then all part of Millcreek Township. Gaylene has indicated that the bibliographic citation is: Combination Atlas Map of Erie Co., Everts, Ensign & Everts (Philadelphia, 1876), p. 15.
