. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Welcome to the Erie County (PA) Genealogy Home Page! Bill Klauk has been your volunteer County Coordinator and web site maintainer since the start of year 2001. However, after 13 years and thousands of contributions posted and maintained, he is no longer in a position to continue. My name is Mary Ann Lubinsky and I will be your new county coordinator. On behalf of myself and PAGenWeb, I want to express our sincere thanks to Bill for the great job he has done. I will not even try to fill his shoes! Bill has left the following message: "My goal was always to make this web site a premier location for Internet research in Erie County, Pennsylvania. I would publicly like to thank each and every individual whose name appears within these approximately 700 web pages as a contributor and/or township coordinator. I urge all of you to support the new coordinator and continue to make contributions. I am hoping to still be able to be active and contribute myself, just not as website coordinator. Thank you to all for your support over the years." Bill had a motto for this site: "Please remember, this is not MY web site - it is YOUR web site." That is exactly how we all feel at PAGenWeb. This site has stayed successful and useful in the past through user contributions. Your generous contributions of information, data, photos, cemetery readings, out of copyright book and article transcriptions, original research and much more has always been welcome and will continue to be welcome. I do not live in Erie County and I cannot help with research. I also do not have information about where to locate resources, such as vital records. If information has been provided, it has been posted. Please direct your research questions (queries) to the query system (currently using Rootsweb Message Board), and/or to the PAERIE-L mail list described below. Also see the links to the Erie Society for Genealogical Research (ESGR) and to the Erie Co (Blasco) Library - both of these organizations provide research services at reasonable rates.
