Mary R. Ensign

 

Died: 3/27/1889

Mary R., daughter of William L. and Melisa Ensign, was born in the town of Portage, Cameron County, Pa. April 5th, 1855, and died in Sylvis, Clearfield County, March 27th, 1889. She was united in marriage to William Titterington, Dec. 31st, 1884. The subject of the above notice was a highly respected and cultured lady, also was for a number of years a very successful and energetic teacher in our common schools, in this and adjoining counties. She was converted early in life and joined the M. E. church and was a worthy member until her sudden demise. In her death the community list a true and valued friend, her family  a devoted wife and mother, a kind sister and affectionate daughter. Four children are left without a mother's hand to guide them along life's uneven journey, the youngest only 5 months old. SHe was conscious to the last and spoke feelingly of absent friends.
