She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Brown and husband Jerry, and Sharon Stelter; two grandchildren, Stephen Brown and Jennifer Brown, all of Sherwood; sister, Alene Rumley Branch of Garland, Texas; and three nieces.

He was a member of Rose City Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he had served in several positions of responsibility. He was a veteran of World War II and served three years in the Pacific. He was retired from a grocery store in North Little Rock. He was a member of Crescent Lodge and A.A.R.P.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Wood. He is survived by his wife, Nora M. Doyle Stephens; two sons, John R. Stephens and Ron Stephens of North little Rock; three grandchildren. Nikki, Michael and Kyle Stephens; two brothers, Ernest Stephens of North Little Rock and Eugene Stephens of Bella Vista; and a sister, Velma Garlington of North Little Rock.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 17, at Roller-Owens Funeral home with the Rev. Bobby Coleman officiating. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Shelby O. "Steve" Stephens Sr., 73, of North Little Rock, a meat cutter with Shelby's Meat Markets in Little Rock that was family operated for 18 years, died Thursday, April 13.

Capt. (Ret) Thelma M. Stephens, 80, of Sherwood, formerly of Smackover and of Odessa, Texas and a retired Army Air Force nurse who served in World War II, died Wednesday, March 12.

This month she received a 50 year service from the Bailey American Legion Post of Odessa, Texas. She is a member of the Catholic CHurch in Odessa.

She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Doris S. and J. Fred Gresham; several nieces and nephews. Following cremation, graveside services were held Friday, March 14, in the National Cemetery, Little Rock.

Betty Thomas Stewart, 82, of Austin, the first woman officer at Worthen Bank & Trust Co., died Monday, Jan. 1, of a heart attack.

Born near Tipton, Mo., she began worked at Worthen in 1943 and becames an officer in 1964. She was named Woman of the Year in Banking from the downtown Business & Professional Women's Club and Arkansas Woman of the Year by a readership poll of the Arkansas Democrat.

She served as state chairman of the National Association of Bank Women, was a member of the Altrusa Club of Little Rock, the Departmental Club and a board member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and YWCA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Perry Stewart Sr. Survivors include her son, Perry Stewart Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Helen T. Leigh of Little Rock, Eileen Schmidt of Milwaukee, Theada Bittner of Iowa, Louise Lomax of California; aunt, Hazel Lyons of Lonoke; niece, Nancy Stewart of Stuttgart; and nephews, David Stewart of Stuttgart; and nephews, David Stewart of Hot Springs and Jerry Brown of Sherwood.

She was an energetic and loving person with a sense of humor and kindness that touched many lives. She gave wholeheartedly to anyone who needed her help or support.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilborn Leon Curtis and Juanita Curtis; her stepmother, Annie Josephine Curtis and a brother, Lewis L. Curtis.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Cody E. Stuart of Sherwood; one daughter and son-in-law, Vickie L. and Julian Smith of Conway; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chet E. and Terri Stuart of Bryant and Keith C. and Kris Stuart of Taipei, Taiwan; and two grandchildren, Casey E. Stuart and Shea L. Stuart of Little Rock.

Margaret Lucious Stuckey, 83, of North Little Rock, retired beautician-owner of Stucky's Beauty Shop, died Thrusday, Dec. 17.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Stuckey,; brother, Jerrald Wilson of Scott; two sisters, Mary Overton of North Little Rock and Hazel Miller of Scott; and several nieces and nephews.

Karl Duane Stutsman, Sr., 81, of Sherwood, active in St. Jude's Catholic Parish in Jacksonville and was a member of the Knights of Columbus there, died Wednesday, Feb. 14. He had lost his mother in his infancy, spent most of his yung life on farms in Iowa with various family members and lost his father when he was only 21.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe and Africe, where he was wounded.

He loved the outdoors, especilaly piloting his fishing rig on many of Arkansas' lakes.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, "Midgie" Smith, a son Karl Jr., and a daughter, Debra.

Survivors include his sister, Evelyn; five surviving daughters and sons-in-laws; and many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

SullivanMrs. J.E.Funeral services for Mrs. J.E. Sullivan, 41, mother of two city school teachers were conducted last week by Rev. Forrest C. Feezor at Harveson and Cole Chapel at Ft. Worth, Tex.

Additional rites were held at 3 p.m. the following day at Prescott, Ark. Burial was in Prescott Cemetery.

Mrs. Sullivan died at her home after a long illlness. She had been a Fort Worth resident for 14 years.

Survivors are her husband, a Stafford-Lowden Co. linotype operator; two daughters, Misses Minnie Marceille and Dorothy Rose Sullivan, teachers in the Fort Worth Public Schools; her mother; three sisters and three brothers.

Timothy Curtis Sullivan, 47, of Little Rock, a talented musician and singer who performed with Asleep at the Wheel, Rocky Burnett, Paul Burlison and The Tim Sullivan Band and recorded several albums and a CD in genres ranging from rockabilly to ballads, died Friday, Feb. 8.

He was a partner in Above and Beyond Limousine Service in Little Rock.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Kenneth Sullivan, who had lived in North Little Rock.

Survivors include his wife, Ruthie B. May; son, Kevin Joshua Sullivan; mother, Betty J. Sullivan; brother, Terry Patrick Sullivan.

A graduate of North Little Rock High School, he had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Arkansas, enlisted in the U.S. Army, served two years in New Guinea, worked for Bracy Home Builders, owned Sybert Esso in North Little Rock and worked in sales at Planters Lumber Co.

He was a lifelong Methodist and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church as well as a member of Crescent Masonic Lodge F&AM, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine Temple, and Albert Pike Memorial Temple Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonery.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Estell Sybert Howell, Thelma Sybert Klinger and Mildred Sybert Bowen

Survivors include a sister, Ethelyne Sybert Huston of North Little Rock; a brother, Billy Sybert of Dallas; seven nieces and nephews; 13 grand nieces and grand nephews; and eight great nieces and great nephews.
