She is survived by her husband, Roy Medley; three sons, James Medley of Mabelvale, Timothy Medley of Justin, Texas, and Thomas Medley of Humboldt, Tenn.; two daughters, Melody Loveless of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Mary Taylor of Scott City, Mo.; brother, Riddick Green of Woodbridge, Va.; 18 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

MehaffyT.M.State capitol circles last week-end were shocked by the announcement of the death Friday of T.M. Mehaffy, 85, for more than half a century an active member of Arkansas legal circles. Judge Mehaffy retired from the Arkansas Supreme Court in 1942. He had been a member of the Court since he was appointed in 1927. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral was held Saturday.; nlrt10/27/1944
MercerA.J.Alfred J. ("Fred") Mercer, aged 51, vice president and cashier of the Peoples Savings bank, died at his home, 4215 Lee Avenue at 3:30 yesterday afternoon, following an illness of several weeks.

Mr. Mercer had been confined to his bed for only about two weeks, but had been in ill health for four or five months. His death was unexpected and was a great shock to his family and business associates.

A brother, H.H. Mercer, of Monteith, Ia., visited here with his family last week and, believing Mr. Mercer's condition improved, left for his home four days ago.

Mr. Mercer is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Bernice Jackson of Little Rock; two sons, Warren A. and A.J. Jr.; a daughter, Clarice; a sister, Mrs. W.E. Lenon, and two brothers, H.H.Mercer of Monteith, Ia., and Paul Mercer of Des. Moines, Ia.

Mr. Mercer was born in Hamilton, Ill., August 5, 1876, He would have observed his fifty-first birthday Friday. He moved with his parents to Iowa when a boy and came to Little Rock about 32 years ago.; nlrt8/3/27

William H. "Bill" Meredith, 48, of Hot Springs, formerly of North Little Rock, died Saturday, July 22, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born and lived in North Little Rock until four years ago, when he fulfilled his dream to live on the lake.

He was past exalted ruler of the North Little Rock Elks Lodge where he was a longtime member. He was sales manager fo Harbor Distributing for many years.

His passion for golf led to the naming of his two sons. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sam H. Meredith.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Geri Meredith; sons, William Nicklaus and Bradley Palmer Meredith; mother, Mary Jane Meredith of North Little Rock; sisters Janet Lynn Meredith of Hot Springs, Cindy Glover and husband George "Budgie" Glover of Sherwood and Robin DeHaven of Little Rock; nieces and nephews, Meredith and Beau Glover and Beren and Drew DeHaven.

MichauGene E.Gene E. Michau, 58, of North Little Rock, died Sunday, Nov. 14, after a valiant fight with cancer. A man of many talents, he was in general maintenance with Worthen/Boatman's Bank for 17 years and also with the 300 Spring Building for several years.

Mr. Michau was preceded in death by his father, Carl J. Michau and step-mother, Eula Dean Michau.

Survivors include his dedicated and loving wife, Jean Michau; mother and step-father, Daisy and Troy O. James Riley Miller, 74, of North Little Rock, died Friday, Jan. 24. Mr. Miller was the retired owner and president of Martins Furniture Co. of Springfield, Mo., who moved to North Little Rock 14 years ago.

He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Missouri Furniture Association, an Alumni of Southwest Missouri State College and a volunteer at Fort Roots at the golf shack.

He is survived by his wife Betty Cole Miller of North Little Rock; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Dr. Peyton Rice of North Little Rock; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert C. and Velma Miller of Springfield, Mo.; and one granddaughter Meghan Rice of North Little Rock.

MilordLorenzaLorenza Milord, 89, of Scott, Ark, died Monday, Sept. 27. He attended School in Pulaski County. He was baptized into the St. Mark Baptist Church in Galloway, where he remained a faithful and dedicated member. Mr. Milord was a Deacon and served on the Usher Board, sang with the True Loving Five Gospel Singers. He served as church treasurer for many years. He was also active with the Masons for many years in Unity Lodge #454.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ruby Milord; one son, Manuel Milord of Seattle, Wash.; one daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and Robert Givens of Oakland, Calif; five granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends.

Edward Everett Milner, 90, of Cabot, a longtime farmer and construction worker who was living at the Zimmerman Nursing Home in Carlisle, died of pneumonia and heart failure Sunday, Jan. 10, at White County Memorial Hospital in Searcy.

Married to Lillie Bell McCain for many years, the two raised 19 children. His hobbies consisted of playing the mandolin, yodeling as he drove the country roads, and rabbit and squirrel hunting.

He is survived by two sons James Milner of Cabot, Gary Milner of Malden, Mo.; and 14 daughters, Irene Ballard, Evelyn Mayfield, Margie Davie, all of Cabot; Kathy Milos, Joyce Ball, both of DeValls Bluff; Audrey Brant of North Little Rock; Dorothy Smith of Quitman; Edlene Laird of Grangeville, Idaho; Martha Majica of Rhome, Texas; Shirley Bryson of Southlake Texas; Doris Johnson of Tomball, Texas; Ellen Nuehring of Bastrop, Texas; Elsie Bivens of Lonoke; Linda Wharton of Melbourne, Fla.; 35 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Walters of Beebe, and Nellie Harris of California.

Claudia Dunn Mitts of North Little Rock, a longtime member of the Somers Avenue Church of Christ and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, died Saturday, Feb. 12.

She attended Arkansas State University and Draughons School of Business and had retired after 34 years as a certified senior engineering technician with the Corps of Engineers, accumulating many "firsts" for women in her field. She was also the first woman to serve as an officer of the Arkansas Post Society of American Military Engineers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Mitts, and parents, Walter and Dollie Keton Dunn.
