| Mehaffy | T.M. | State capitol circles last week-end were shocked by the announcement of the death Friday of T.M. Mehaffy, 85, for more than half a century an active member of Arkansas legal circles. Judge Mehaffy retired from the Arkansas Supreme Court in 1942. He had been a member of the Court since he was appointed in 1927. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral was held Saturday.; nlrt10/27/1944

("Fred") Mercer, aged 51, vice president and cashier of the Peoples Savings bank, died at his home, 4215 Lee Avenue at 3:30 yesterday afternoon, following an illness of several weeks. | Mr. Mercer had been confined to his bed for only about two weeks, but had been in ill health for four or five months.
