Born in Pine Bluff and a graduate of Pine Bluff High School, she was a long time member of the Church of Christ and a charter member of Sunnydell Garden Club.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, O.S. Godsey, Jr.; one son Quin Godsey and wife Judi of North Little Rock; one daughter, Barbara Thrasher and son-in-law, Billy Joe of Columbia, Tenn; one sister Wanda Laub of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, Tim Thrasher of Tulsa, Okla., Christy Threasher of Ft. Worth, Tex.; and Lauren Godsey of North Little Rock; and one great-granddaughter, Nicole Threasher of Tulsa.

She was a survivor of forced labor camps in Germany during World War II, a retired Meat cutter with Finkbeiner Packing Co.; and Bryan Packing Co. and a memeber of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Zofia and Walter P. Buratowski of North Little Rock; four grandchildren, John Buratowski, Patricia Platt, Edward Buratowski, all of North Little Rock, and Mary Eastham of Little Rock; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Glenn William Golden, 77, of Jacksonville, owner of Golden Motor Sales for 33 years, died Monday, July 28. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant with 26 years in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred. Survivors include a son Philip Golden and his wife Trudy, of Jacksonville; a daughter Marsha Friedman and her husband Lloyd, also of Jacksonville; a sister Helen Tate, of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Ryan and Craig Friedman, and Anthony and Kevin Golden.

Freida Glendine Good, 76, of Sherwood, died Wednesday Dec. 10. Ms. Good was born at Delight, Ark. She assisted her husband in his business, Wildwood Superstop for 19 1/2 years. She was a member of Bethal Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

She is survived by her husband Vernon Good; two sons James Henry of Sherwood, Rolland E. Henry and daughter-in-law, Donna of Amity Harbor, N.Y.; one daughter Carol Siedenglanz and son-in-law, Jim of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

GossRobert W.Robert W. Goss, 73, of Sherwood, a decorated veteran of World War II who served in combat with the 36th Infantry Division, died Thursday, Oct. 21.

His military honors include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, and numerous other ribbons. He was a retired major in the Arkansas National Guard and served on the full-time staff of the Adjutant General until his retirement.

Mr. Goss served for two years as business manager for the Arkansas State Prison System and also retired from the J.C. Penney Co. as its security manager. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Little Rock.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Hum Goss; two sons, Robert J. Goss of Mountain Home and Tim Goss of Sherwood; two daughters, Cathy Cochran of Eustis, Fla., and Gail Walker of Jacksonville; one brother, Gene Goss; two sister, Dorothy Deere and Melba Dean Cook, all of Sherwood; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Evelyn Bones Gowen, 90, of North Little Rock, died Tuesday, Jan. 12.

Born in Clay City, Il., she was a postmaster at Knobel for 34 years and served on the Clay County LIbrary Board. Active in the Knobel United Methodist Church, She had become a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Orlie Newton Gowen, a son, Philip, a grandson, James M. Chronister Jr., and a brother, Robert Crown.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, James M. and Mary Gowen Chronister of North Little Rock; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and two brothers, David Crown of Laurenceville, Ill., and A.J. Crown of Clay City, Ill.

GragsonErnest E.Ernest E. Gragson, 89, of Sherwood, died Sunday, August 26, Mr. Gragson was a member of Bricklayers Local #1 for 58 years and President or Financial Officer of the Arkansas State Conference of Bricklayers. He was a member of the Sylvan Hills Methodist Church and was a Mason.

He was well known for his volunteer work before and after retirement.

Survivors are his wife, Fern Gragson; two brothers, John and William Gragson of Oklahoma City, and a sister Eloise of Texas.

May Fern Gragson, 88, of Sherwood, died at her residence Tuesday, Jan. 12.

Active in the Order of Amaranth, serving as Grand Royal Matron and Grand Secretary and Grand Treasurer, she was also a member of Friendship Court No. 10, (Mt. Sinai Lodge) in North Little Rock. She served as Worthy High Priestess in the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and numerous supreme appointments. She was also a member of Rose Croix Shrine No. 2 (Big Rock) in North Little Rock where she served in the office of Queen for many years. While active in the order of the Eastern Star she was a member of Jewel Chapter No. 362 (Big Rock) in North Little Rock where she wa a past Worthy Matron.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ernest E. Gragson.

Survivors include her sister, Linnie Reeves of Dallas; nieces and nephews.

Willim Leslie Gray II, 54, of Houston, died Saturday, March 4, in North Little Rock. He was a gifted artist and craftsman and had a unique ability with animals.

He was preceded in death by his father William L. Gray. GraysonGordon L.Gordon L. Grayson, 72, of North Little Rock, died Friday, Aug. 15, in his home. He was a retired Vice Chairman of the engineering firm of Garver & Garver Inc., where he was employed for 31 years. He started as a temporary then progressed to a principal owner in 1964, later became corporate treasurer, and held that position until he retired.

He was National Director with the American Consulting Enginneer's Council (ACEC), Arkansas ACEC President and was a charter member of Arkansas Academy of Civil Engineering.

Survivors include his wife, Faye A. Grayson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael G. Carla Grayson and Larry T. and Amanda Grayson; daughter Karen E. Grayson; four grandchildren, Julie and Brian Grayson, Sean and Jeffrey Moore; a brother Thomas B. Grayson of Williamson, N.Y.

Maurice Dale Griggs, 71, of North Little Rock, died Friday, June 27. He was born at Morganton, Arkansas, to Seth H. and Mae Baker Griggs. He graduated from South Side High School in Bee Branch, Arkansas. He was a member of Levy Church of Christ. Mr. Griggs retired from Hollis and Company as Warehouse Supervisor in 1984 after thirty-six years of service.

He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Betty Jo Fullerton Griggs; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen Lea Griffs Ferren and Cliff Ferren; two grandsons, Andew Dale Ferren and Matthew Lee Ferren, all of North Little Rock.

Alice Watson Grimm, 92, formerly of North Little Rock died Thursday, May 18, in Houston, Texas.

A native of Lake Village, the daughter of the Rev. H.H. and Nora Watson, she was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, AAUW and the Arkansas Pioneer Association.

She was a graduate of Henderson-Brown College (HSU), received her master's degree from the University of Arkansas in 1956 and taught from 1929 until 1938 in Texarkana. In 1954 she began teaching at Lakewood Elementary, where she taught for eight years before accepting the job of prinicpal at Pike View Elementary, where she stayed until she retired in 1973.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Alice and Dewey Trumble of Houston, son and daughter in law, Bill and Ione Grimm of El Paso, Texas, and grandchildren Steven and Allison Trumble, Shane and Cathy Grimm.

Louise S. Grubbs, 89, retired from the law firm of Boyett and Morgan, died Friday, Oct. 20.

Born in Augusta, Ark., she was the oldest living member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bald Knob.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawton E. Grubbs, her parents, a sister, Edna Harbour, and brother, John Simerley.

She is survived by her sister, Mildred Simerley; three nephews and their family, Dow Simerley of North Little Rock, Terry Simerley of Sherwood and Charles Simerley of Jacksonville.

Funeral services officiated by Elder Sam Dortch and Dr. Jeff Heverling, were held Sunday, Oct. 22, in Searcy. Burial was in Bald Knob.
