Dorothy Lucille Coccia, of North Little Rock, widow of Oreste "Rusty" Coccia, died Thursday, Feb. 4.

The daughter of Albert and Matilda Wright, she was a graduate of North Little Rock High School and worked for Timex for 36 years.She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, the IAM and St. Mary's Church.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Jeanne Coccia of Plant, Ark.; daughter and son-in-law, Cookie and John Standley of North Little Rock; grandson and wife, Brad and Sabrina Standley of Maumelle; granddaughter, Darby Adams of Maumelle, four great-grandchildren, Greg, Tyler, Lauren Standley and Mike Adams of Maumelle; two cousins, Dorothy Hindmarch of Easton, Pa., and Doris Shirley of Canton, N.C.

Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Feb. 6, at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Worm officiating. Burial was in Edgewood Memorial Park.

Lt. Col. (retired) Peter Lewis Coffield, 80, of North Little Rock, died Saturday, Jan 10. He was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church of North Little Rock, the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh, Wisc.; the Air Force Association, Retired Officers Association and Veteran of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Hefner Coffield; two daughters, Catherine Louise Sullivan of Memphis, Tenn., and Peggy Leah Meredith of North Little Roc; two sons, Patrick Alan Collield of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Michael Lewis Coffield of Clinton; brothers Alford Coffield of Owosso, Mich, Floyd Coffield of Durand, Mich., Leo Coffield of Quitman; Sister, Ellen Martin of Flint, Mich.; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, Anna Christine Stark of North Little Rock.

CohenSavannah M.Savannah M. Cohen, 87, widow of David A. Cohen of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, Dec. 25. She was a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church, a retired motel manager, and a former volunteer for the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include a son, Ron Cohen and wife Bonnie of North Little Rock; a daughter, Maureen Leverett and husband Byron of Alpharetta, Ga.; four grandchildren, David Steinmetz, Lisa DuBose, Lori and Lindsey Cohen; four great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

CokerHarrell R.Harrell R. Coker, 81, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, April 24.

He was a retired employee of North Little Rock Electric Department and a charter member of 47th Street Baptist Church. In the early 1950's Mr. Coker, a bi-vocational Baptist minister, served as pastor of Friendship Baptist Church 10 miles east of Conway.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, and his wife of 53 years, Eathel (Herring) Coker.

Survivors include two sons, Vernon H. Coker of North Little Rock and Dr. Dan H. Coker of Seaside, Calif.; two daughters, Norma Carpenter of Lewiston, Idaho and Wilma Fiser of Rogers; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Farrell Henderson of Conway.

Dow Warren Colclasure, 76, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, April 29. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the V.F.W. and a lifetime member of the American Legion and the Eastern Star. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Victoria Colclasure; three sisters, Jessie Staggs of St. Charles, La.; Olene Curry of North Little Rock; and Jean Janosek of Little Rock; five step-children, Sandra Kay Drew of Pontiac, Mich., Shirley Shores of Clinton, Tenn.; Lula Ann Hull of Pontiac, Jerry David Newland of Pontiac, and Clifford Newland Jr. of Darlington, S.C. and several step-grandchildren.

Doris Marie Rothman Colford, 72, of North Little Rock, died Tuesday, Nov. 18.

She had a passion for helping the elderly, Help and Hope, the Salvation Army, and her church.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Clay and Kim Colford.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, R.V. Colford; a daughter Carolyn Manning of Bryant; six sons, Tom Colford of Little Rock, Bob C. She was office administrator for the Sherwood Police Department. Survivors include her husband, L.L. Dr. P. Bruce Condit, 48, of North Little Rock, an osteopath who practiced in the emergency room of Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton and Centrl Arkansas Hospital in Searcy and was also the state air surgon for the Arkansas Air National Guard, died Friday, April, of injuries in a motor vehicle accident.

He received a bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Wyoming and an associate degree in nursing from Northern Arizona University, he worked as a nurse while attending medical school. He recieved a doctor of osteopathy from Kirskville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

He served as a flight nurse in the North Carolina Air National Guard, completing his medical internship at Malcolm Grow USAF Hospital at Andres Air Force Base in Maryland. He also served as an active duty flight Surgeon at the Little Rock Air Force Base and in Bosnia.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Keith Condit. Survived include his wife, Cynthia; son, Ben Condit; and daughter, Molly Condit, all of North Little Rock;his mother, Catharine Condit of Arizone; two brothers, Geof Condit of Arizona and Christopher Condit of Massachusetts; and his best friend Bosworth J. Bear.

James H. Cordell, 81, of North Little Rock, a retired switchman from the Missouri Pacific Railroad died Friday, March 23. Born in Beebe, he was a member of the North Little Rock Order of the Elks #1004, the North Little Rock Local Order of Moose #942, and a veteran of World War II. Until his health declined he enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne Engleberger Cordell; daughter and son-in-law Jeannean and Bernie Bauer of Shrewood; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Paul Ledet of North Little Rock; son, James E. Robert E. "Bob" Cordes, Sr., 73, died Friday, March 28 at his home in North Little Rock. He was of the Catholic Faith.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Patricia Anne Peak; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Dody Cook Cordes of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one granddaughter, Amy of Buford, Georgia.

After graduation from High School in Fort Smith, he enlisted in the army and served in both World War II and the Korean conflict. After leaving the military, he began his career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and retired in 1985, after nearly 40 years of service.

After retirement Mr. Cordes was a volunteer for several years at the VA Hospital in Little Rock.

A Rosary was held Monday, March 31, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home. A graveside service was held Tuesday, April 1, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith.; nlrt 4/3/1997

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Corley; a son, Robert Bruce McColl; a daughter, Dorothy McColl.

Survivors include a grandson, Edward Bruce McColl of Forney, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.

Ora Lee Cornelison, 87, the first woman member of the North Little Rock School Board died Monday, Feb. 19. She had been very active in numerous civic organizations, include the Good Earth Garden Club. She had also served as president of the School Board as well as president of the Federation of Garden Clubs.

According to stories that appeared in The Times during the early 1950s, Mrs. Cornelison had been employed as secretary to the School Board, then was appointed to fill the unexpired term of J. Frank Warden before being elected to the board in 1953. Her opponent was Chester Kirk, a local tire dealer who later went into the pawn shop business, and she beat him by 172 votes.

In 1956, after one full elected, three-year term, Mrs. Cornelison oped not to run again.

She was very active in the First Christian Church of Sherwood for more than 80 years, where she taught the Loyal Workers Sunday School Class for 55 years.

She was an elder emeritus in the church and honored with an award for her successful work in helping to organize the Church Women United. Her presentations of Christmas stories and book reviews were also enjoyed by many people in various organization around the city.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 22, at First Christian Church of Sherwood with the Rev. Jack Singleton officiating. Burial was a Pine Crest Memorial Park.; nlrt3/1/2001

Couldwell, aged 86, Civil War veteran, who died Wednesday night in a Little Rock hospital after suffering injuries when he fell over a water trough at his home near Cato Saturday. Two of his grandsons, J.P. Couldwell and S.P. Zinn, are members of the North Little Rock Fire Department, attached to the central station. Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at Cato cemetery. The funeral party left the residence of Mrs. J.H. Zinn, 1201 West Eighteent street, at 10 o'clock. The Rev. Ira A. Lt. Col. (Ret.) Rufus Crews, 90, of North Little Rock died Sunday, Nov. 17. A native of Dora Ala., he grew up in Oklahoma, then attended Henderson State University on a football scholarship and graduated in 1928.

He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. He served in the Army Reserve until his retirement as Lieutenant Colonel.

He coached high school football at Malvern High School and was selected by the Arkansas Gazette as center on the All-Time All-Arkansas Football Team. He was selected to the Poteau High School Hall of Fame.

Mr. Crews was an active member of the North Little Rock Lions Club. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Hazel Marks Crews; one daughter, Catherine Crews Donovan of Little Rock; one son, Jack Dan Crews of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren, Ronald Boyle of Euless, Tex.,` Robert Boyle of Roland, James Nicholas Crews and Laura Elizabeth Crews, both of Tulsa; one brother, Roland Crews of Poteau, Okla.; and one sister, LaHoma Stodsdil of Duncan, Okla.

Eueldine Virginia Culp of El Dorado, the vivacious mother of Mayor Patrick Henry Hays' wife, Linda, died Sunday at the Arkansas Hospice Center in North Little Rock of pneumonia after a long illness. She was 78.

"She had a lot of spunk," Linda Hays said, marveling at the way her mother had maintained her sense of humor and empathy even during her recent illness.

Beford Mrs. Culp had been moved here earlier this month, her daughter had commuted to El Dorado on weekends to visit her and recalled that even while in an El Dorado nursing home, her mother toured the halls and checked up on her friends while offering them encouragement. "I'm really going to miss her," Linda Hays said.

The mayor who said he carried on a good natured battle of whits with his mother-in-law for years, agreed. "She was a great lady. She enjoyed life, and she enjoyed a good conversation...I'd bait her and she'd bait me back, and in the end we were both smiling."

Kenneth Marks Cutler, 89, of North Little Rock, died Thursday, Feb. 4. He was a retiree of the Railway Postal Service and a Veteran of World War II serving in France, England and Germany. He was a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Cutler; two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Mark Hillman of North Little Rock and Bea and Reece Watson of Maumelle; a brother, Richard Cutler of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Allie May Trout of Curtis, Ark.; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, at Rest Hills Memorial Park with Gary Neal of Levy Church of Christ officiating.
