UlmerThomasPocahontas, Feb. 16 - It was learned here today that Thomas Ulmer of Alberta, a former patient in the state hospital, committed suicide at his home Wednesday. He shot himself in the head with a small rifle, and lived but a few moments.

He left no message. His wife and son were in the home, and rushed to hs side when they heard the report of the gun. It is believed that Ulmer feared that his mind was again failing him.; ag2/17/17

UptonC.E.Dardanelle, April 29 - Funeral services for Mrs. C.E. Upton, 70, who died at the family residence here last night, were held from the Dardanelle Baptist church this afternoon. The Rev. G.D. Faulkner of the Baptist church and the Rev. Henry Hainesworth of the Methodist church officiated. Mrs. Upton was born in Palmyra, Mo. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Una Upton, both of Dardanelle and three sons, George Upton of Dardanelle, Ted Upton of Pasadena, Cal., and Ben Upton of Wetumpka, Okla. Mr. Van Lear was anephew of the late H K Cochran and formerly made his home in this city where on November 25, 1898 he married Miss Edith Goodrich, daughter of the late Ralph L Goodrich, clerk of the United States District Court. VestalJoseph W. Joseph W. Vestal aged 82, a pioneer florist of Little Rock and Argenta and prominent in Masonic circles, died yesterday afternoon at 2:30 at his home on Riverside drive, north of the Missouri Pacific bridge, in Argenta. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Mr. Vestal came to Little Rock from Cambridge City, Ind., in 1880. Soon after his arrival he established greenhouses in Little Rock and Argenta, which he conducted until the time of his death. He was assisted by his son, Charles Vestal, 1296 Lincoln avenue.

Mr. Vestal was a member of the Masonic bodies of Little Rock. He participated in the laying of the corner stong in 1859 at Cambridge City of the Masonic temple, and last week exhibited to member of the fraternity here a copy of a Cambridge City newspaper giving an account of the ceremony, which said he was the only survivor who participated.

Survivng him are his wife; one son, Charles Vestal, and two daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Smith of Argenta and Mrs. Ella Wiegel of Chicago.; ag8/7/1917

A telegram was received yesterday announcing the death of Sister Mary Vincentia, eldest daughter of the late Judge E.B. Blanks, at St. Cecelia's convent, Nashville, Tenn. Little Rock relatives surviving Sister Mary Vincentia are her brother, Ed Blanks; her stepmother, Mrs. Sallie M. Blanks, and a step-sister, Mrs. Sarah Blanks. The funeral arrangements have not been made.; ag1/29/17
VinsonBaldyBaldy Vinson former Little Rock attorney and representative in th last lagislature from Chicot county, died at Lake Village about 6 o'clock last night, according to a message received by his wife, last night. Mrs. Vinson and her sons, Baldy Vinson Jr., went to Lake Village at once.

Mr. Vinson is a brother of J.H.Vinson, president and treasurer of the Southern Trust Company. Mrs. J. R. Vinson was the only relative in Little Rock last night, her husband being in New York city on a business visit. She said that details of the death of her husband's brother were not contained in the telegram telling of his death. Mr. Vinson's family resides at 2123 Broadway; ag3/27/17

Funeral services for Baldy Vinson, aged 50, who died at Lake Village Monday night, were held at the residence, 2123 Broadway, at 3:30 yesterday afternoon. Relative and many friends from Lake Village, Augusta and Searcy came to Little Rock to attend the funeral. The Rev. John Van Lear officiated. The pallbearers were: Active, Dr. James Dibrell, H.M. Woods, J.N.Moxley, C.G.Price, James Watkins, June P. Wooten, J.H. Stanley and T.E. Stanley; honorary, Dr. Milton Vaughan, J.C.Conway, Dr. J.P. Easley, Sam Wassell, Joe House Sr., George Clements, Gordon Greenfield and James Wilson. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery; ag3/30/17

VinsonMargaret F.Hope, April 9 - Mrs. Margaret Foster Vinson, 56, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O.M. Battle, here last night. Mrs. Vinson was born in Columbia county, but had lived in Hope since childhood. Mrs. Vinson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Orrin M. Battle of Hope; one sister, Mrs. C.A. Bridgewell of Hope; and two brothers, Col. W.Y. Foster of Hope, and Capt. Will C. Foster of Little Rock; ag4/10/15
