LangstonCharlesPine Bluff, Sept. 2 - News was received here today of the death at El Paso, Tex., last night of Charles Langston, aged 59, former resident of Pine Bluff. He came here when the Cotton Belt railway shops were established in this city 32 years ago and was employed there about 15 years, when he resigned as master mechanic and went to El Paso, where he was in charge of the mechanical department of the Mexican and Northern railway until his death. He is survived by two sisters and three brothers. They are Miss Sarah Langston and Mrs. Hannah Brickel of Pine Bluff, Frank Langston of Deming, N.M., Joe Langston of Shreveport, La., and Will Langston of El Paso, Tex. Mrs. Athel Townsend of this city is a niece. The body is expected to arrive here Tuesday night or Wednesday. The masons will have charge of the funeral; ag9/3/1917

Helena, Jan 11- Mrs. Sarah E Lanier, aged 94, next to the oldest resident of Philips county, died at her home on McDonough street this city at noon today following a heart attack suffered three hours previously.

Mrs. Lanier was the widow of a Confederate veteran and had lived in Phillips county nearly all her life. She was the mother of eight children, none of whom survive her. Funeral services will be held from the First Methodist church at 3 p.m. Sunday; ag1/12/30

She was the daughter of Judge W.H. H. Clayton of South McAlester. She is survived by her husband and her father; by three children, Melaine, 13, John, 12, and Mary, 7 years old; two brothers, W.H.H. Clayton Jr. of McAlester; three sisters, Mrs. H.S.Kaiser. Henrietta, Okla., Mrs. S.G. Brink and Mrs. S.H. Brown, both of McAlester. The body will be sent this afternoon by P.H. McAlester, Okla, Sept. 8 - The funeral of Mrs. John E. LeBosquet was held yesterday afternoon at the residence of he father Judge W.H.H. Clayton. The simple, impressive Christian Science service was read by Mrs. Will Halley and the music for the ceremony was rendered by Mrs. A.C. Green and R.H. Matthews.

Pallbearers were W.P. Dalton, J.T. Leibrand, George Lounsberry, Kent V. Gay, W.E. Hailey and J.A. Willour. Burial was in the Clayton lot of Oak Hill cemetery.

Melanie Clayton LeBosquet was born in Fort Smith Ark. She came to McAlester with her parents when a very young girl. She was graduated from the Visitation convent in St. Louis. Her marriage to Mr. LeBosquet took place in McAlester. The three children are Melanie, John and Mary.; ag9/9/1917

LedbetterFrances Pine Bluff, June 10 - Miss Frances Ledbetter, aged 17, daughter of J.R. Ledbetter, a prominent resident of Pine Bluff, died at a local sanitarium yesterday morning from the effects of swallowing a number of bichloride of mercury tablets last Sunday night at the home of her brother-in-law, Dr. W.E. Brunson, at Swan Lake. She was rushed to Pine Bluff last Monday morning and every effort was made to save her life.

It was said that she had been suffering from severe headaches and took the medicine in efforts to obtain relief or with a desire to end her suffering because of despondency. Besides her father, she is survived by three sisters, Mrs. W.E. Brunson of Swan Lake, Miss Hattie Ledbetter and Miss Anna Ledbetter of Pine Bluff, and one brother, L.L. Ledbetter of Clarksdale, Miss. Arkadelphia, Dec 31. John Thomas Lee, 82 who has lived here since 1850 and who was one of the best known business men of the early days of the city, died at his home this afternoon. Born in Chambers County, Alabama, November 9,1847, Mr Lee came with his parents to Arkansas in 1850, and was married to Mrs Eudora Lee October 16, 1879. He is survived by two children, Mrs. E W Thomas and Will H Lee of the Thomas Drug Co. of this city, also by two sisters, Mrs B N Carter and Miss Dona Lee, both of the Hearn community near here, and by one brother Joe J Lee of Hermleigh, Tx

Mr. Lee clerked and was accountant for M M Cohn who conducted a mercantile business here before going to Little Rock. Later he was in business with Scott Hearin of Gurdon.

George Huston Lenox, aged five, died at 6:30 last night at the family residence, 1804 Maple street, Argenta. He is survived by his father, J.B. Lenox, two brothers and one sister. LenoxWilliam While working over a scaling pit at the sawmill of Brown & Hackney, in Factoria addition, William Lenox, aged 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Lenox, 1894 Maple street, Argenta, became overbalanced and fell 18 feet into the pit, breaking his neck and crushing his chest, at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He died instantly.

Young Lenox had been working at the mill about two months. He was a log scaler. He was graduated several years ago from the Argenta grammar school and also is a graduate of Draughon's Business College of Little Rock.

Funeral services will be conducted from the residence at 7 this morning by the Rev. J.T. Willcoxen. The body will be sent to Austin by P.H. Ruebel & Co, for burial.

He is survived by his parents, one brother, L.H. Lenox, and one sister, Miss Emma Lenox.; ag6/10/1917

Wynne, Aug. 27 - Capt. J.M. Levesque, aged 83 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. T.B. Smith, near Vanndale, at 9 o'clock last night. Until a few years ago, when he voluntarily retired from politics, Captain Levesque had held office almost continually in Cross county, since before the Civil war. He was in command of a company of Confederate soldiers throughout the war, and was elected of office at the close of the war, but was disqualified during reconstruction days. He was sherriff, clerk and treasurer of Cross county for a period of 30 years. He was born in Limestone county, Alabama, in 1834. He was married to Nannie Willis, who died September 21, 1904.

He his survived by an only daughter, Mrs. Smith. Funeral services will be conducted at Vanndale tomorrow; ag8/28/17

LewisHarry Texarkana, June 14 - Harry Lewis, a young man, was shot a fatally wounded last night at Hooks, a small town, 15 miles west of here, by W.C. Taylor, a veterinarian. He died of his wounds early this morning. Taylor says that he shot in self-defense. He is at liberty under bond of $10,000. Lewis boarded with Taylor.
