UllendorfWilliamCaptain William Randall "Randy" Ullendorf, USAF, 41, of Cabot, died June 18, 2000. He was president of the Arkansas Academy of Physician Assistants, (ARAPA) and Group Practice Manager of the 314th Medical Group Family Practice Clinic at Little Rock Air Force Base.

Survivors include his wife, Marti Ullendorf of Cabot; a daughter, Janessa Ullendorf of Biloxi, Miss.; his father, Mike Ullendorf of Biloxi, Miss.; a brother, Cal Ullendorf of Biloxi, Miss.; and a sister, Vanessa Blair of Colorado.

He was a retired assistant general agent with Aetna Insurance, a former principal for the Bald Knob School District, a member of the First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a member of the Senior Men's Adult Sunday School Class.

Survivors include sons, John Daniel Urton of Illinois and Samuel Britton Urton of North Little Rock; a daughter, Victoria Urton Harris of Forrest City; a brother, Harry E. Urton of Carlisle; and seven grandchildren.

Woodrow Wilson Utley of North Little Rock died Feb. 8, 2002, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

He was a veteran of World War II, and retired in 1979 from the Missouri Pacific Railroad after 40 years as a Brakeman and Conductor. He was active in the Scottish Rite Temple in the Valley of Little ROck, where he was most recently honored as a 33 degree Mason. He was a member of the Magnolia Lodge F&AM since 1943

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Emma Lou; one daughter, Beverly Harrison; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one brother, B.J. Utley of Austin.

Funeral was Monday, Feb. 11, at the Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, North Little Rock. Interment was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.

UzzellAlton LAlton L. Uzzell, 90 of Lonoke died Jan. 2, 1999.

He was a member of the Apostolic Church, a retired grocery owner and a veteran.

Survivors include his stpedaughter, Pat Beaver of Lonoke; grandsons, Randy and Stan Beaver and families of Lonoke. Other family members include Ernest and Billie Uzzell and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral was 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5 at Brownsville Baptist Church by Rev. Andy Kerr and Rev. Donald Sjostrand. Burial was in Lonoke Cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Visitation wsa from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, Monday, at Boyd Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Stan, Randy and Mitch Beaver, Ernest and Davis Uzzell and Charles Cummings. Honorary pallbearers were his Sunday School Class at Brownsville.

Clyde Dalton Valentine, 90, of Cabot, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001. He had one of the first shoe repair shops in Cabot and one at Park Hill in the 1940s. He was a tool and die machinist for Westinghouse, and a member of the Remount Baptist Church and a lifetime member of Big Rock Lodge in North Little Rock.

Survivors include his daughter, Ruby Kittell of Lonoke; a son, Franklin Valentine of Warren; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside services were Monday at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Cabot Funeral Home; csh2/14/2000

VerserJerold W.Jerold Walker Verser, 69, of Cabot died Thursday, May 1, 1997.

He was a farmer in Eudora for 34 years, a banker, and a real estate developer. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and served on the Board of Directors for the Eudora Bank, Southern Farmers Association, and Riceland Foods. He was a deacon and a member of the Cabot First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lydia Purnell Verser; two sons, Dr. Michael W. Verser of Jonesboro and Rodney P. Verser of Lonoke; two daughters, Carol Denton and Laine Fancher, both of Russellville; six sisters, Allene Rauch, Josephine Bryant, Evelyn Hauk, Lucille Baker, and Martha Critzberg, all of Lonoke, and Carolyn Oudin of Little Rock; and nine grandchildren.

VialaMarilynMarilyn Goodbar Viala, 79, of Cabot died Monday, April 12, 1999, in Little Rock.

She was born Jan. 9, 1920 in Lonoke, Ark. to Bernard and Leila Goodbar. After growing up in Little Rock, she attended Ouachita Baptist College, then married Paul E. Viala April 18, 1941. They have four children.

From 1930 to 1972 she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, where she offered her life and heart to Christ at the age of 13. Marilyn authored a book, Woven, about the ministry of Dr. W.O. Vaught Jr.

In 1972 she moved to Cabot, where she became a member of First Baptist Church.

A multi-talented lady, she was a poet, author, florist and storyteller. She taught ladies Sunday School classes for 60 years. She was a wedding designer, who directed more than 500 weddings in the state. She was the president of the Little Rock Ouachita College Club, past president of P.E.O., Chapter I, a member of the Little Rock Garden Club, and several bridge clubs.

A talented hostess and decorator, Marilyn was invited to decorate the governor's mansion for Christmas, and her homes were photographed several times for the Arkansas Democrat and Arkansas Gazette. She always set extra places at meals for guests who had no family nearby, and had some guests from as far away as Russia and Korea.

Her creativity permeated the lives of her survivors, her husband, Paul E. Viala of Cabot; her daughter, Leann Hanshaw of Cabot; her sons, Ted Viala of Bentonville, Tim Viala of Jacksonville, and Terry Viala of Sheridan; eight grandchildren, Heath Hanshaw, Hastings Hanshaw, Holly Huckabee, Whitney Viala, Courtney Viala, Christopher Viala, Tracy Viala and Julie Viala; and three great-grandchildren, Marley Huckabee, Lance Huckabee and Micah Huckabee.

Her parents, and brothers, Fritz Goodbar and Tom Goodbar preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the Chapel of Griffin Leggett/Rest Hills Funeral Home. 7724 Landers Rd., Sherwood, 835-3515, with Dr. Del Medlin and Rev. Dan Kenner officiating. Emtombment will follow in Rest Hills Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, in the funeral home.

Paul Edward Theodore Viala Sr., of Cabot, born Dec. 4, 1915, in New Orleans, Passed away Saturday, Aug. 19.

A World War II veteran, he served as Sales Manager and Vice President of Little Rock Paper Company for a total of 53 years. Serving in various offices in the Pulaski Business Men's Association, he also was a member of the Baracca Sunday School Class at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock for 27 years and then a member of First Baptist Church in Cabot for 28 years. He had a keen wit, an organized mind, tremendous pride in his family, high expectation for Godly character and a great love for baseball. An avid sportsman, he also enjoyed hunting and fishig and was quite a storyteller. He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather and gret-grandfather.

Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Goodbar Viala, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Leann and Lance Hanshaw of Cabot; three sons and their wives, Ted and Connie Viala of Bentonville, Tim and Marsha Viala of Jacksonville, and Terry and Cindy Viala of Sheridan; eight grandchildren, Holly Hanshaw Huckabee, Heath Hanshaw, Hastings Hanshaw, Christ Viala, Courtney Viala, Whitney Viala, Tracy Viala and Julie Viala; and three great-grandchildren, Marly, Lance and Micah Huckabee.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett-Rest Hill Funeral Home, 7724 Landers, North Little Rock, (501) 835-3515, with Dr. Del Medlin officiating, and interment at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
