He and his wife, the late Audrey Louis Hughes Porter, founded the Mid States Chemical Company. He served in the WWII in the Seventh and Third Army in Europe. He recieved four Battle Stars and a Presidential citation. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was awared the Arkansas Traveler Award by Gov. Bill Clinton in 1989.

Col. Clyde Louis Price, 76, of Sherwood died Sept. 6, 1997.

He was a retired colonel, an Army World War II and Korean conflict veteran, was USP&FO for the state of Arkansas, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 110 of DeValls Bluff, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was active in the Guideons International.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Price; two sons, Clyde Lynn Price of Okeechobee, Fla. and Charles Lynn Price of Cabot; a daughter, Carolyn Lea Price of Sherwood; six grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
